Is it as terrible as mine?! Don’t get me wrong, I love my SO but he has some crazy fashion sense. He only recently bought new jeans after having only one pair and wearing that same pair for years. Totally baggy and unflattering and more like daggy dad jeans lol. Then he tells me that he likes cargos and cammo pants with the thousand pockets… I didn’t even know you could still buy those! He can actually do suits pretty well but when it comes to something more casual he’s a bit lost.
So please tell me ladies is anyone else’s SO as bad as mine when it comes to clothes?

FI likes shorts and graphic tees and work boots or flip flops with a hat on backwards. It makes his mom crazy because he’s 33, and she feels he’s too old for the t-shirts, but I don’t care about what he wears. He does dress up when it’s appropriate. I still buy him graphic tees for Christmas.

Ugh my FI has a lot old baggy clothes from several years ago that dont flatter him at all. He also has jorts! And several terrible Insane Clown Posse tshirts and hats!

my DH is a 30 year old frat boy, he’s still hot though..imo

Shorts. Always shorts. Add to that an ironic/funny/borderline offensive t shirt.
I gave up trying to dress my husband. As long as his clothes are clean, this is one battle he gets to win.

My SO is actually very stylish. Mostly in the what’s “trendy” sense, but he has a good sense of taste. Probably because he is an artist so it transfers maybe?

He is always wearing shorts! He’s from Buffalo, NY so he pretty much can go out in freezing winds and still not get cold! It’s crazy. It is pretty much the metalhead fashion sense. He wears black pretty much 98% of the time and metal bandshirts. I can live with this seeing as I come from the goth subculture so we’re the alternative couple. My fashion sense is a little bit more delicate than his. Lol.

My fiance is a fantastic dresser. Granted, he’s gotten better since we started dating 4 years ago but he can totally dress himself and looks great.

Relieved I’m not the only one!
2/3 pairs of basic jeans complimented by hundreds of band / slogan t shirts of varying ages (some about 15 years old I think?!) He can sort of dress up but not really – it causes a bit of fuss. He is also pretty random with shoes. He has work shoes like brogues and then trainers, but will wear them interchangeably. Such as ripped and tatty old band t shirt, tatty old jeans, then smart shoes. I point out that he looks odd and sometimes he’ll change. His socks never match, but that’s sort of become his thing (and it drives MIL mad so bonus points there).
Usually I just leave it be, as long as the clothes are clean.
It’s a shame though – he isn’t very confident in his appearance so I think he doesn’t want to spend any effort on it. But if he spent a little time on it I think he might feel better about it. Sigh.
I’m not sure I want to know what ‘Jorts’ are. Jean shorts? I’m imagining something like Tobias wears in arrested development.

Non-existant. He basically lives in jeans and metal band t-shirts. Unless we are going out for date night or something more dressy. Then he points to the closet and says “Dress me.”

Dogsbody92: oh, you can buy them in H&M, my FI bought yesterday a pair of 1000-pockets-cargos there lol
when we started dating, he was dressed terribly. a bit of my attention and a bit of his funding, and now I do like his outfits 😉

Ugh. My SO is always super clean and well groomed. He has the cleanest, neatest nails I have ever seen on a man. BUT… when it comes to fashion, he just doesn’t care. He wears jeans and tshirts\hoodies ALL THE TIME.
We recently went to a nicer restaurant for dinner. It wasn’t like crazy fancy but they had real cloth napkins and white table clothes and the price was higher than your average restaurant. So in my opinion it called for at least business casual attire. You know what he wore? he wore his nicer pair of flip flops, cargo shorts and a polo shirt. really?! seriously?! here I am in my nice black leggings and heels with a dressy loose flowy long blouse with a bold statement necklace on and I walk in with frat boy joe. I was so aggravated. I made him call the restaurant before we left to make sure that would even be ok for him to wear. Turns out it was, but still! come on dude!!!!
He wears backwards hats all the time and is just constantly super casual. drives me bonkers. I love wearing my red lipstick and being put together when I go out. But I look so overdone and out of place when he has on a backwards hat, cargo shorts, flip flops, and a minions tshirt. And yes, I mean the little yellow guys from despicable me. he’s 30 btw.
I won’t win this battle right now, but I’m at least thankful that he is super clean and well kept and that his clothes are at least ironed and neat. ugh!!!

- Wedding: May 2015 - The Fairmont, SF
He dresses like he’s a 37-year-old who’s trying to impress middle school boys.
It’s awful. Truly. Hollister, Abercrombie, Aeropostale – all with the MASSIVE logos so it’s not even subtle, and all in colors I can’t stand (royal blue, striking red, etc). He usually wears them paired with jeans, or recently, cargo shorts. Sigh. If I can get him into a proper shirt, it’s like Christmas day for me, no lie.
Now that I’ve started this vent, I might as well continue: the worst part is the sheer volume of the number of clothes he has. Like, seriously, well into the hundreds. Yes, HUNDREDS of the same logo/screen-printed hideousness… ARGH! When we moved in together, there was literally zero space for my things in the closet. :/

My FI is very stylish and is even great about helping ME pick out MY clothes! He is a working professional and has been for a very long time. His job entails Design, so he is great with colors and what works well together. I swear the man owns 3x as many pairs of shoes as I do.

He is jeans and a polo shirt. EVERY DAY. But, he does wear different colors and brands (mainly AE or Aero) so it’s not all the same. Sometimes he’ll wear a long sleeved button up, or a long sleeved thermal shirt, but only on weekends if we’re going out.
We’ve been together almost 4 years and I’m still trying to get him into a few differnt styles of shirts, but he’s most comfortable (and won’t get hot) in a polo, so it’s fine. I’d love him in sweaters with a collar, but he’ll get hot – so I’ll work on that over time!
