I think it is awesome that you are able to keep your costs that low! I don’t think that you should be comparing yourselves to national averages when you are having a small wedding, though. We are hoping for around 175-185, but because we have huge extended families it is looking more like 200. The budget is bigger, but our costs per head are going to be pretty similar to yours!

we had about 60 people and we kept it around $5000 (including our schmancy clothes). but… part of that is luck and having amazing friends.  (DIYed everything from decorations to flowers to invites…friend played guitar for ceremony, had a pro-photog friend take pictures for free, had an ordained friend marry us, etc.)

We’re looking to keep it around 10K, including what we can afford and whatever help our families offer. Our guest list is at 160 and we live in rural PA. It should be doable here.

15-20k including the honeymoon. Our guest list is 50-75 people. The budget was 10-15k but I keep finding out that we need more stuff.

Well my parents started out firm at $5,000… we haven’t even payed for the photographer or the DJ yet at it’s already at $11,000.

My mom and I are not really good with budgets… lol.

HA!  expect to go over budget, it’s just gonna happen.  we started with a budget of $25K.  I thought we’d probably be closer to $30K.  Ended up being more like $40K.  Thankfully I have awesome parents who let me have what I liked, because they saw I was super conscious of what we were spending the entire time.  And it turned out amazing, it’s so worth it!  This was for 160 guests, venue was an Aquarium (awesome!), and does not include our honeymoon since my husband and i paid for that ourselves.

I think I have totally blown my budget out of the water. I wanted to spend around $2000 but I just found a venue that i love and it’s $4000. So, my budget is smoking…..

not including the honeymoon, we spent about $60k-ish total on our 150 person wedding which was within our overall expectations.  But I was surprised by how the total cost brokedown in some areas.  There were some things we were under budget on–hair, make up, dress, wedding planner, even photography.  But some things that came out more than we expected–our 2nd biggest expense after venue/food was the floral/decor and our invitations were semi-DIY but were still expensive.

Ours will probably be 15K when it’s all said it done (for about 100 guests).

We couldn’t do a lot of budget saving moves (having lunch instead of dinner, Friday/Sunday instead of Saturday) because all of our guests are coming from out of town and Sat evening would be the best timewise.
