We have a 1936 Chevy Sedan to drive around in, and the wedding party will be behind us in a party bus!
Ummm we carpooled and then mom and dad drove us away in their mercedes. None too thrilling but free =]
my own two feet! we're walking from the hotel to the ceremony/reception site.
:( This is the one wedding element I don't get to participate in. Our ceremony is happening in a chapel adjacent to our hotel (it sounds tacky when i just wrote it, but it's the cutest place EVER). But because our reception and everything is right there, we won't have a gettaway car :(
we're getting married on a lake, so we'll be travelling by boat!!! how fun is that?
We're making the 100 yard walk from our hotel to our ceremony/reception site. It's a path that is right along the river, so it will be really beautiful, and a great photo opportunity, as well. We're taking a rickshaw pulled by a bicycle to our after party location, which is only a few blocks away, and then again back to our hotel.
H3 Hummer limo for ceremony/reception but not sure if we're going to be able to afford to keep it for leaving the reception.
A red 57 chevy convertible owned by a family friend if it doesn't rain. The 5 doesn't go out in the rain. Pray for sunny skies on October 31st.
Not a priority. I think the friend escorting me down the aisle is driving me and he has a nice car but I forget what it is. A BMW maybe. I am probably leaving in FI's car - a Nissan Xterra.
none, i'll be getting read at the b&b, and then sleeping over at the b&b. and very happy to not be traveling.
We are using his dad's 57 Red Chevy Corvette convertible! We won't be going far just driving off in and then coming back as the we are staying in the hotel where the hangar is at. Then Sunday morning we are having a brunch along the runway (we are getting married in the hangar) and taking off in an airplane. FI is a pilot and some of his friends have planes that we are hoping we can borrow!
We didn't have the need for a car at our wedding (everything was on 1 site), but I would have loved to use a vintage rolls royce or something along those lines :)
@joyce - I also always day dreamed about a vintage rolls royce or something along the line - white with al throu rounded corners. :) Alas, we probably won't be able to afford that. (nevermind that we are planning a destination wedding!)
@vintage2010 - how cool is that you will fly away to your future!!! awesome!
Ladies - if you got the pictures (especially the vintage ones, the trolley, the bike), post them please! If I may be selfish, I love looking at cars just as much as looking at the rings! LOL. (OK, maybe I like looking at the rings a tad bit more...) :)
This is what we are driving away in...
Still trying to figure out the limo situation before hand to get the bridal party from where we are getting ready to the ceremony/reception site...It is hard when you have a 19 person bridal party plus a HUGE family!
We had a limo first to drive us from my mom's house to our site and off again for pictures (we wouldnt all fit in mom's car. not to mention its usually covered in dog hair lol)
Then, we had a horse and carriage that was more for show than anything lol It drove me up to the ceremony and hubby and I drove off again after for a quiet trip around the block, just the two of us. It was also my first ever carriage ride and everyone, people we didn't even know, was honking and waving! It was like being a princess. Our ceremony and reception was the same place though. We circled back and picked up the flower girls (I knew they'd want a ride!) and took some pics by a fountain. Totally unnessary, but fun. Hubby paid for it as a bit of a gift to me. I was paying for most of the wedding, and was going to skip that for financial reasons, but he said "we're only getting married once!" and wrote me the check lol
We used NYC Taxi cabs to the ferry provided by The Water's Edge and then took the ferry across the East River to the ceremony/reception site. Did the reverse on the way back.
@rchel234 - gorgeous Bentley! I have a picture op for you - try squeezing in all 19 of you into the Bentley when the ceremony is over! [OK, probably not the best idea, but wouldn't it make a cute, fun picture?]
...
BTW, never knew so many boats could be involved! How great! :)
We'll just use our personal vehicles since wedding is all at one place. I'll have my brother drive me from the hotel to Lodge. Too much work in the big ol' dress.
FI was in charge of this, I gave him the price range and the amount of people who had to fit, and he totally worked magic, we are getting a zimmer excalibur it's so awesome I saw it and my jaw dropped, I kind of wish we had a really long car ride from the church to the reception cause I will not wanna get out of that thing!
I am not sure yet. I had originally thought of getting a limo only for our getaway but now I don't know how me and the bridal party will get to the venue...and we saw the trollies at Bridal Extravaganza, so I'm still comptemplating.
I should mention, I am not really wanting us to have to drive ourselves.

At the airport waiting for FI's much delayed flight to come in... On iPhone so will keep this short for now. What's your choice of a car/transportation on the wedding date? Limo? Convertible? Vintage car? Horse carriage? SUV?
