We don't know the sex yet, but will tomorrow! Finally I'll be able to start buying things from my inspiration pics!

and for the boy

Tooo cute!!
I had always said if it was a boy it would be robot themed a girl would be owl themed. Good thing I collect owl stuff, I should have no problem filling up our little girls room
Here are some ideas I had

I just started putting together my nursery inspiration board.

Pics I found online that inspired me:

DH picked a farm theme :) We're team green so once the baby comes we'll either add pink or green John Deere stuff too. Mwitter80 I may need to steal your idea and add some antlers on the wall for a boy, DH would love that haha.

Here is my inspiration board!
We are doing navy and green with an owl theme.
So far we've painted the dresser (just like the one in the picture, we painted the frame white and the drawers navy blue), and my husband is building the cube storage unit.
I am ordering the fabric today to make the banner/pennant and a diaper stacker out of those owls and arglye prints. We also have the curtains, which are a white/green geometric print, we just need to get the curtain rods to hang them.
We have a few odds and ends too, like we have an adorable owl ceramic figurine that we spray painted navy for the room, and I've printed a few things for wall art, I'm spray-painting the frames still.

@AbbieMason: Opting not to find out the gender before birth.
we did a brown/blue theme for our sons things. we wanted to have something that can progress with him in age for a while.
Just out of curiosity - why different themes for boys vs. girls? Nurseries are ultimately for the parents as far as design and it's not as though babies identify with things that are stereotypical to their gender.
We're doing sci-fi either way.
DH actually ended up picking out the little one's bedding. We're doing white and pink with hints of brown and cherry blossoms.
(Sorry, I can't actually post the pics)
The bedding: http://files.nurserybabybedding.com/productImages-xl/migi-pink-blossom-baby-crib-bedding-xl.jpg
I'm pretty girly, so we're going soft and feminine. This was my original inspiration board, it's the same except for the bedding. Just substitute the blue for brown.

I always wanted to do Winnie the Pooh. I have amassed a huge collection of Tiggers since I was about 12, and I love the illustrations of the original!
@lobbyart: With my first (now 3) I did winnie the pooh I did find out his gender at the ultra sound but his theme was gender neutral. For my next (hopefully we concieve soon) we are again doing a gender neutral dr. seuss theme. I think gender specific themes are great to and if I knew I was having a girl it would be difficult for me not to go crazy with a super girly theme. I get why so many people base the theme on gender but also understand why some don't.
We're doing a Peter Rabbit themed nursery - I absolutely ADORE all things Peter Rabbit. Ever since visiting the Lake District of England (home of Beatrix Potter) nearly 6 years ago, I have had my heart set on doing a Peter Rabbit theme for my first baby.
Our second option was classic Winne the Pooh - I don't like the brightly coloured, cartoonish Winne the Pooh, and I also don't like the baby, pastel Winne the Pooh, but the classic drawings from the original books are lovely.
I just finished my inspiration board :) We're going for a neutral color scheme that is going to be super cozy and full of texture. A little rustic, a little classic, a little vintage... I'm sure I'll keep adding more.

@panterapeach: That's funny how you said you'd do owls for a girl, but robots for a boy. I was going to do just birds for a girl and use a lot of the leftover bird paraphernalia from our wedding (little decorative bird cages, ceramic birds, a bird mobile, etc), but that was too girly for a boy so we opted for owls for a boy.
So if you wanted to stick with owls, I think it goes either way depending on your color scheme.
Here's some of my inspiration. I LOVE the alphabet wall!

@Mrs.KMM: I LOVE that first picture, so pretty. And it's kinda gender neutral too. That rug is AWESOME.
@bloodgo1: sooo sweet. love it.
This is my inspiration pic for our baby boy nursery:

We have amazing furniture (crib, dresser, change table) that is dark wood and my mom has given us a crib set with a pond (frog/bug) theme. So this is the inspriation, but the colors will be slightly different and the squares on the wall will turn into strips...because strips are just way easier to paint :p
@abbyful - I love your inspriation! Before we found out the gender, I was very into the teal, pink and yellow!
@MarryMeTiffany: I love this quote for a Dr Seuss room: http://imgfave.com/view/1561101
@mrsjets: I love that squared wall but I know my hubby would freak if I suggested it! My craft room is painted with 3 horizontal stripes and he refused to help. He said 2 stripes and he would help 3 I was on my own. So I did it on my own :)
We're team green and for our first we kept the room the blue it was when it was the office. I made a couple accents with striped fabric from Ikea and decorated with my plethora of beanie babies. The artwork is just coloring book pages I had friends/family color at my shower and writes notes on. The plantation shutters and ceiling fan should also count as part of 'nursery decorating'. I've since added an ABC's print above the dresser and a name decal above the book slings.

We are expecting #2 this summer and will but both kids in this room. I'm going to replace the double bed with a bunk bed and converting the theme to Eric Carle. I plan to hang his Letter/Animal flash cards from the artist wire and my mom and I will be making a double quilt and baby quilt from Eric Carle fabrics. I haven't yet decided what else I'll do.... I'm sure I'll switch out some of the fabric accents. The books slings will be really easy to switch out for Eric Carle fabric.
This grey and yellow nursery and the first online pic that Abby posted above were/are my two inspirations.

But DH told me this weekend he really wants us to try a Beatles nursery...at least two wall murals based on Beatles songs. So far I've sketched out an outdoor scene with a rising sun, blackbird (decals), a field of strawberries and a rainbow (Blackbird, Free As a Bird, Here Comes the Sun, I'll Follow the Sun, Good Day Sunshine, Watching Rainbows, Strawberry Fields). The second one would have a diamond starred sky at the top, maybe with a walrus sitting on a rock, and then the rest underwater...a yellow submarine and an octopus's garden (Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, I Am the Walrus, Yellow Submarine and Octopus's Garden). I have no idea what to do with the rest of the room though. It's still all in the very beginning stages...and there are really no nursery inspiration pictures to go on.
@Mrs Sarah McK: I just saw a beatles themed nursery the other day! I cannot remember where though. If I remember, i'll be sure to let you know, it was really cute!
Not TTC just yet but this one I love. I'm sure you've seen it, it's been floating around pinterest recently. My sister is a wonderful artist so I know she could easily paint the mural for me which is great, because I certainly couldn't do it!

@babycrz - haha mine is the same way! DH just suggested that we get our painter to do the one wall. That way it's done properly and we get to have the squares. I guess it will depend on how much he charges!

I'm completely obsessed with all things baby right now we are on our first cycle TTC and I am only on CD9 hopefully I will be ovulating this weekend :) We are going to be team green and will be doing our nursery in Dr. Seuss. Here is my inspiration picture. It won't be the same as the picture but I like the blue and the general feel of it.
I would love to see fellow bees nursery inspirations :)
