Still trying to decide on ours! 'Unforgettable' and 'The best is yet to come' are in the running...
Ours will start with "Everything I Do, I Do it For You" by Bryan Adams and then fade into a Mexican song called "Par de Anillos" by Viento y Sol for FI's family's benefit.
Looks like you favor the classics! Have you considered "It Had to be You" by Sinatra?
I'm not sure if we are going to have a first dance but it would probably be Hey Ya by Outkast. I'm not kidding!
Ours was "Can't Help Falling in Love". We have a few of our songs but I couldn't do that because I would be bawling.
We're dancing to "Barcarolle" by Offenbach. We first heard it in the movie "Life is Beautiful." It's a gorgeous piece (and an awesome, tear jerking movie!), and we thought we were pretty original to use it as our first dance, but some friends of ours just used it in their wedding last year. Oh well, we're using it anyway! :)
FH wants Dave Matthews- You and Me
We also considered, You're All I Need to Get By- Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell
I Can't help Falling in Love with You- Elvis and In My LIfe- The Beatles
@Miss Chocolate Me, too! We LOVE Ben Folds and especially that song. Just saw him in concert on Sunday -- a nice way to celebrate our two-week wedding anniversary :)
Jason Mraz: Lucky....this is one thing I left up to FI to pick and he did great I think!
@Miss Chocolate and @bluestuff: We're also having The Luckiest! FI really loved it but I thought it was a little long. Fortunately, he has a computer program that let him cut it down to about 3 minutes.
Dave Matthews Band - "You and Me". We considered some more traditional first dance songs, but we both agreed that this song felt more us and we already think of eachother whenever we hear it.
Young Emotions by Ricky Nelson Also highly thought about using Loving You by Elvis.
@zandra898 You can never go wrong with Nat King Cole! We are using alot of his love songs during the reception.
@missdane - We used Lucky by Jason Mraz, too! We got married on an island with the breezes and oceans and flower in my hair - nothing else made as much sense! It was like the lyrics just told our wedding story, silly enough.
We have 2: The Luckiest by Ben Folds and L-O-V-E by Michael Buble.
We're dancing to "To Make You Feel My Love", sung by Adele, originally by Garth Brooks. We originally wanted 1,2,3,4 by the Plain White T's but decided it was too fast for us, so we are using that for our cake cutting song instead.
Rgeddy - "You are the Best Thing" was going to be our first dance song, too! However, when we couldn't decide between that and "You and Me", we decided to make the Ray LaMontagne song our last song of the night.
Good choice : )
I love, love, love Cat Power's version of "I found a Reason", but I haven't sold FI on it yet...still working on that one!
I want to do "Better Together" by Jack Johnson but my FI isn't sold yet, he thinks it might be too fast.
Still deciding, Turn your lights down low by Bob Marley or come away with me by Norah Jones.
@ms.noodle - That's such a good song, and although I prefer the original, Chan's version is much more wedding-friendly.
We are dancing to "Two is Better than One" by Boys Like Girls & Taylor Swift. I like several other songs but this is the one we could agree on.
Eden's Gate - Pat Green. It's a very obscure song that I can bet most people will never have heard before. But it's so so perfect for us!
@melissabegins: did you waltz to it? we have a dance lesson in a week and the instructor suggested we bring the music and i'm curious as to how it'll turn out. i think the song fits us perfectly because we met in the US and moved overseas, blah blah blah :)
At this point I think we have agreed on Lucky by Jason Mraz
@Ms. Smuttynose hey! Us too.. and here i thought we were being so original ;) how are you dancing to it?
