My budget was 2000. I paid $1,800 for dress and will pay another $500 for alterations. $300 over but worth it
I upped my budget based on the contigency that I sold it. And I did. Budget is a personal thing and depends on your overall budget so its tough to base it on others. If someone has a 5K budget or 20K or 50K will change what they can spend on a dress.
I budgeted around $1200 and paid $619! Havent dont alteration yet, so we'll see! :)
My "budget" was $1000. FI and I kinda made that up when we walked into the salon. I ended up getting a dress and a sash that cost $600 with tax.
i didnt really have a budget.. i just started trying on what bridemaids picked and the sales associate.. bout 10 dresses in and an hour later she asked me what price point i wanted to be in.. i said 2 grand max. got my dress for around 1500. not sure how much alterations will put me...
I sort of had a budget ($500) but after going into my first salon I realized that wasn't enough for what I wanted. So I upped my budget to $1000 and my dress was $999. So I'll be over with alterations but I wasn't really counting that into my dress budget.
i didn't have a budget actually, we are having a beach wedding and i just get mine from an online store at a bit over 300 dollars, i love it very much! The only problem is it is kind of too big for me, i am having it altered now. I have a picture here, lol

My budget was $1500-$2000 and I spent $1200 on dress, still have alterations to do so we will see.
My budget was $1000 for the dress, we didn't include alterations in that budget, that was separate... my dress came in at $985 after tax, haha. Closer than I would've liked but worth it :)
I will end up going $400 over my $3,000 budget after alterations. It's well worth it. I decided to pull the money from not doing wedding favors and make my wedding bouquet and bm's bouquet DIY projects to compensate.
My parents paid for my dress, and I couldn't get them to give me a budget no matter how hard I tried (the bridal salons were very frustrated by this... haha). I found a dress I really liked for $2300, and my mom suggested we keep looking (I could tell it was too much money). I eventually found one that we bought for $1200, and we paid $325 in alterations.
My budget was 2000 euro for everything to do with the dress but I ended up being overbudget by about 800 euro;). Don't feeel guilty though as I'm paying for it myself.
My budget was around $1000.00. My mum ended up wanting to buy it for me as im her only daughter and it cost $1600.00.
Alterations were only $60.00 to get the dress taken up.
My budget was initially $800. I then realised I had more expensive tastes, and so upped it to about $2400 (excl. accessories, shoes, veil etc). In the end, I spent about $1800, and there may be a little extra still to pay for alterations.
1500-2000, spend 1800 on the dress/veil and since its a corset, will hopefully only have to have the length adjusted, so hopefully come in around 2k :)
My mother bought my dress. She set a budget of $3,000. With the flat rate alteration fee and tax my dress was just under $3,200. I expected to pick up the difference but she didn't even flinch. I felt guilty at first, since my runner up dress was $1,700 but she made it clear $200 was not an issue.
She also bought my "day after dress", which she said was "meant to be" since we found it on sample sale, that was another $500.
My budget was $2000. My dress was $1650 and I haven't gone through alterations yet.
My budget was/is $4800 for EVERYTHING related to my day of look. This means dress, alterations, veil, shoes, accessories, undies, etc. I have my final fitting in two weeks and it looks like I'm going to come in at $3200-ish.
My dress itself I was budgeting $3000 and ended up paying $1329. I had planned on paying for everything myself but my mom gifted me the $3000. I allocated the extra money to pay for my entire bridal party's hair and makeup, and for the little "extras" that my mom requested (ie: a bolero and more expensive favors than i was originally planning
).
Budget was $3,000. With tax and alterations I paid $4,200. A lot over budget but worth every penny...I never regretted it even for a second.

Budget: My mental budget was $1000 (including alterations), but my parents wanted to pay for it and I have no idea what their budget was.
Cost: I got my dress, bra, slip, and veil for just under $750. I guess I have inexpensive taste? At this point, it fits perfectly, so no alterations.
My parents set a budget of $5,000.
Dress was $4,900 and alterations were $600.
So we were $500 over budget but my parents LOVED the dress.
I had found 2 I liked. One was $4,900 (the one we got) and one was $2,100. My parents kept saying they wished they could like the less expensive one better, but the other dress really was "the one".
My budget was $2000, inclusive of alterations, but I really wanted to spend half that. My dress was $1300, belt was $300 and alterations were $375 (hem and bustle). I ended up being comfortable with spending the money because I LOVED my dress. My husband wanted me to have my dream dress (this was the whole reason we had a wedding; I wanted to elope), so I'm glad I chose my dress.
My budget was $1,200 for everything. My actual dress was $750. Tax and shipping was $90. Then I had about $300 in alterations. My veil was $25, and my crinoline was $22. It ended up being around $1,100. So it was under budget, but I had no idea the alterations would be what they were.
My budgert was 2000 including alteratiions but ended up sending 2240 which includes 100$ of free alterations. Hopefully I won't need more than that!
My original budget was 2k but up to 3k if I really liked something. After trying on dresses I found so many nice unders under 2k that I just couldn't see myself spending more than 1,500. The original price of my dress was 1485 but I got 15% off for a trunk show special so in the end with taxes it came to around 1300. I expect to pay between 100 to 300 for alterations.
When FI and I made our wedding budget we agreed on $1500 for the dress.
My mom then offered to buy my dress and set a budget of $2500. She volunteered that if I spent less on the dress she would give me the difference toward the wedding, so I set my mental budget back to $1500.
Dress was $1300 + alts. My runner up dress was $2450.
I'm paying for my own dress out of budget. Since I want something totally untraditional (i.e. short, with sleeves, and prehaps some color...), I set my budget at $600 with alterations. Right now, the dress that I am eyeing is $599. I'm going to try on some other dresses as well before I purchase that one, but I do not want to spend over that 600 mark.
My budget was 2500 with alterations. Its looking close to 4k with alterations.
My budget was 1200, we paid 1300. This was fine with me because this dress didn't need alterations or any certain "undergarments", so I felt comfortable with it.
My budget is 5K, dress is 3700. I hope alterations are within the budget!!
