I have always loved all things Disney (hence my name!) and Disneyworld is a really special place for me. I've been almost every year since I was a little kid. Most of the time with family but sometimes with classmates and friends. I always go there with people I care about. This year, my bf and I are saving up for a trip to Disneyworld later in the year (August or December, right before we go back to law school or during our winter break), and he has STRONGLY hinted that "something special may happen there" (eeek!). Anywhere at Disney would be wonderful, but my dream is immediately after EPCOT's illuminations fireworks show. They always play this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbA2d8CHiKQ over the loudspeaker and it's my absolute favorite and I really think it describes what a proposal should mean. I'd love for him to propose at the "and we live to keep a promise" part. Very specific I know, lol.

I was proposed to in front of Cinderella's Castle in Walt Disney World!
first off... proposal planning business... brilliant! and congrats on thinking that one up!
second... I love the scavenger hunt proposal idea. and would love it for my self as well. one clue leads to ____ which takes you on a bike ride to _______ where there is a picnic waiting including _____ which gives you a map (assuming the girl can read maps) to take you to whatever, its so fun and mysterious and romantic... I saw one like this on youtube too, youtube is killer for ordinary proposals, they set the bar so high.
I wish guys would think far enough ahead to get friends to hike out and take pictures of the occasion.
Mine is pretty simple. I've always wanted him to just do it at this pretty look out spot we always take our dog to.
That being said...you know, if a plane went by when we were walking with "Will you Marry Me?", or a bunch of poeple canoe down the river below holding signs...it would be the cherry on top!
I did hear about a guy who completely decorated a barn. He made a little table in the center with candles, champagne and flowers. He then said "lets lay down and look at the stars" the layed down on the hay, looked up at the barn ceiling, he flicked a switch and Will You Marry Me? was put on the ceiling in christmas lights. SO cute.
I'm a sporty gal and SO is very much a sports enthusiast...I think a jumbo-tron moment would be wicked cool! I know it is cheesy and some people think it's dumb but it would suit us really well.
Something pretty basic, in nature, preferably in the evening or before dawn. My SO and I thrive in nature so for it to be anywhere else would seem pretty weird. Possibly near a waterfall.. ooh yeah a waterfall in the Scandinavian Fjords would be awesome.. But anything would work, I just want him to be my husband one day.

But not in front of the castle. I always wanted to be proposed to in front of the Rags to Riches fountain (if you are looking at it straight on from the height of a child, the crown appears on her head).
There would also be a Disney photopass photographer on stand-by so that every moment of the proposal was captured.
I got the proposal of a lifetime! My FI and I were on vacation in Jamaica. We went down to watch the sunset and we were the only two people on the beach. With the most gorgeous backdrop imaginable, he spouted the most romatic speech (that I barely remember), got down on one knee and gave me the ring of my dreams.
Although I couldn't have wished for anything better...I think it all has to do with what is special between the two of you. He could have asked in 100 other ways and I'm sure I would have loved it just the same.

Well... I have always wanted the proposal to be a surprise- and thats exactly what it was. I am a very scheduled and pre-planned person...always knowing whats going to happen and when and thats exactly what I didn't want. I knew we were going to get engaged, but had no idea if it was going to be next week or next year- as money is tight.
Last summer my hunny and I went to Starved Rock State Park in Illinois- 2 hours outside of the city (Chicago) where we live in. We went a few times that summer and everytime I was amazed by the waterfalls in the canyons. Although I love working in the big city... it gets crazy....I love nature and hiking so going to parks in what I love to do best.
One trip we asked if my dad and sister would like to go along. They agreed and we packed up to get away for the weekend. We took the trail into the canyon with the largest waterfall...and I stood right near it absorbing the cool mist as it was 95 degrees outside. My hunny came over to me to splash some water.... I wasn't really paying attention to him, but before I knew it- he was on his knee in the water with a ring. I wasn't expecting it at all. Little did I know he had told my entire family he was going to do it that summer a few months earlier... and my dad and sister knew that he was going to do it that day. My sister even caught it on camera.
Now the pictures we took that day will never compare to our wedding photos we'll take later this year- but the smile on our faces says it all. We do however look terrible all sweaty in jeans and tshirts....but I wouldnt trade it for a million dollar proposal.
There were even people cheering in the background.
