We danced to a not so classic song that we fell in love with during high school. We had two songs that we detictated to each other and tried to decided where they would fit in our wedding

We considered this song but decided to have it play while the guest were waiting (made my husband cry while he was waiting!) :

We chose this one because it talked about the love we have now (the other song described the love we had when we were still getting to know each other) :

Both songs sound like teenage dreams but I wouldn’t have danced to anything else 🙂

We were listening to “bella” by Angus and Julia stone the other day and FI actually got a little teary eyed (which he never does!) and asked if it could be our first song.

There goes the girl
In the pretty skirt with the
Golden smile that made you feel new
Like when the marching band strolls the street
You know another years come too soon
So you took her hand and she gave a look that sent you to the moon
And there you spoke the words of a gentleman
Can I have this dance with you
Can I share this dance with you
Won’t you come on home
I built us a flying machine
And we’ll go where you want
and we’ll sail the seven seas
I hope all is well in daisys dreams

Ours will be a version of “Smile” by Uncle Kracker: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UI_r0mOaLY4. We had a really hard time deciding and went through many options (reall considered Whatever It Is by the Zac Brown Band) but went back to this song. It was the first song we really connected with when we started dating.

Matchbox 20 Overjoyed was our song. I let my husband pick it. We did not have a song either but he said this one just fit and that is all I cared about.

We didn’t organize any formal dancing (no first dance, no father daughter dance, etc.), but by chance the first dance we had together was to Frank Sintara’s The Way You Look Tonight, which happens to be a favorite of mine.

Our first dance was to “The Book Of Love” sung by Peter Gabriel. It was one of our first “songs” in our dating relationship. 🙂

We will be dancing to “Then” by Brad Paisley. We tossed around a few different songs, but happened upon this song one day and never looked back. We love it and think it describes us perfectly.
