(Closed) What is/was your reception itinerary?

@beachside:

I hope this kinda helps you as this is only thereabouts. We’re getting married at 1.30pm so will get to the reception venue at around 3pm for drinks etc. We will then sit down for our meal at 4.15pm. The evening reception will start at about 7.30pm so first dance around 8.15 – 8.30pm I guess.

What are you doing between dinner and 7:30? My ceremony will be over around 4 so for us that means dinner around 5:45 and then we’re kinda upset that we’ll start dancing when it’s still light outside (sun won’t set until 8:30 on my W-day) so I’m just considering some options on how to stall..

5:30-6:30: Mass
6:30-7:00: Travel to reception
7:00-7:45: Cocktail “hour”
7:45: Guests seated then grand entrance
7:55: Salads then dinner served
8:45: Toasts then cut cake
8:55: First Dance
9:00: Father/Daughter and Mother/Son Dance
9:05: Dancing begins
11:30: Bar closes
12:00: End of reception

If things actually go according to this schedule, I’ll be amazed, but this is the plan anyway.  Our goal is to get the dancing started as early as possible.

Ours was

6:00 Ceremony

6:30 7:30 Cocktail hour/bridal party and bride/groom take pictures

7:30-First dance, father/daughter, mother/son dances

7:45 – Dinner was suposed to be served at this time but was running a few minutes late so our DJ just played some slow songs and guests danced

8:00 – 8:30 – Dinner and going around to tables

8:30-9:30 – dancing

9:30 – toasts

10:00-10:45 – more dancing

10:45 – cake cutting

11:50-11:30 more dancing

11:30 – bouquet toss and garter toss

11:45 Send off

1:00-1:30 Ceremony-

2:00-3:00 Pictures at church and destination spot

4:00- 5:00 Cocktail Hour

5:00 Dinner begins- Buffet style

5:45-6:00 Toasts

6:00-6:30- First Dance, Father /Daughter Dance, Mother/ Son Dance

7:00-7:30- Dancing

7:30-8:00- Desserts brought out, Cutting of the cake, bouquet and garter toss

8:00-10:00- Dancing! and send off
