Wondering what everyone has or will have engraved in their wedding bands??
I’m having “love of my life” put in my FI’s band. When I wrote it down the jeweler laughed at me which made me second guess myself. I guess she thought everyone should put their name & wedding date inside. I decided to tack on our wedding date, but still left what I originally wanted to put! 🙂
My Fiance is having something along the lines of ‘forever’ or ‘lifelong’ put into mine, but it’s a longer phrase in Spanish (‘para toda la vida’)
What about you?

(‘para toda la vida’) THANKS!
I’ll be stealing this for somewhere TBD…
I plan on using “BEST DECISION EVER” and the date…

We have “10-12-2012”, our wedding date, engraved. Nothing fancy. This way he has to remember our anniversary!

I am trying to figure out what to engrave in his.. when we first started dating we talked alot on msn, so he used to type “like u lots” and the first time he said he loved me he typed ” L__E U LOTS” when i asked why he left blank letters instead of spelling “like” he told me to think about it and fill it in … so that’s always been the way we type it now. so i am thinking of that and the date….
i haven’t come up with anything else that i like or that means anything to us.

@Happy Hopeful Bee: best decision ever – that’s cute, I like it!
@khf777: Hahah, when I decided to add the date that exact thing crossed my mind! Now he’ll have no excuse 🙂 hahaha

Darling Husband had “IF YOU TRY YOU” engraved in my e-ring and “GET WHAT YOU NEED” in my wedding band, which is a modified version of “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”. He said he’ll keep trying because I’m what he needs. 🙂
I had “forever, amen” engraved in DH’s wedding band. I pray a lot throughout the day (like obsessively). He makes fun of it (not b/c I’m praying, but b/c of how often I do), so this has personal meaning for us. I wanted to put the full “forever and ever, amen” like the Randy Travis song, but that wouldn’t fit according to the jeweler his band came from. I’m not sure I believe that now because I’ve seen a lot of rather long engravings. Oh well, he knows what I meant.

I’m not actually engaged yet but I gave my SO a promise ring of sorts with “cairdeas, dílseacht, grá” engraved on the inside. I hope someday he’ll switch the ring to his other hand but it means “friendship, loyalty, love” which are the three things I promised him when I gave him the ring.

We’re going to have a short phrase which sums up a favorite memory we have of the other on the inside of our rings, inspired by the theme of the movie Eternal Sunshine and the Spotless Mind. I believe that that remembering our best memories and favorite moments can help hold things together during bad times.

Aw these are so sweet. Neither my husband or I have anything engraved (I think my wedding band may be way too thin for one) but maybe one day I’ll get something engraved on his. You’ve given me some good ideas.

My SO and I met on World of Warcraft (it’s an online game, yeah, we be nerds). When you target another character in the game and type /(action) like /kiss it will say (your character’s name) blows a kiss to (targeted character’s name). I’ve decided to have ours engraved with /love. I want to use old typewriter font too so went the silver naturally darkens it will look like it what stamped in by an old school typewriter, a nod to more academic nerdiness.

Our wedding anniversary. We weren’t going to get anything, but the saleslady wanted to engrave our wedding anniversary as her gift to us.

I was going to put a phrase in there that was super personal to us but its too long to fit inside.
So instead i just added
Darling Husband name + MY name our wedding date

I want to have le grá go deo put in his, which means ‘with love forever’ in Gaelic, and Is liomsa mo ghrá in mine, which means ‘my beloved is mine’ also in Gaelic. We’re getting Celtic tungsten wedding bands, so it means even more to me that the words are in Gaelic! 🙂

I struggled with this decision too. We ended up with:
For my best friend. Love, (my/his initial)

We’re putting “pinky swear” on the inside of our rings. We’ve always been big believers in the pinky swear as an unbreakable promise, so it fits for us.
