I work at a jewelry store, and I’m also a major gift giver.
I love giving presents, and I help people pick out presents at work all day, so it got me thinking about all the people I would possibly buy for and what they might appreciate most if I got them a jewelry gift.
Obviously part of it is personal taste, but if it were you, what jewelry gift would you most appreciate for a major gift giving event?
Example gift giving events: Graduation, anniversary, push presents, wedding day gifts, etc.
I’m including a poll as well, but feel free to give more specific ideas.

I’ve only been married 18 months, but I already told DH what I want for our 10th anniversary. I want emerald cut diamond stud earrings at least 3/4 ctw. He’ll have to special order them, because I’ve never seen any that are emerald cut in the jewelry stores.
However, if he wants to get me some pearls before our 10th anniversary, I’d be more than okay with that too!!!

Well diamonds are my best friend so a fashion ring or stud earrings would be delightful.
I think in general a tasteful pair of stud diamond earrings is perfect. Lots of ladies I know that are more simple when it comes to jewelery (case in point my new sister in laws) both cherish the pair of stud diamond earrings they recieved. I think they are simple and classic regardless of your fashion style.

@Loribeth: Tell him to find a jeweler that handles loose diamonds. I don’t want to go plugging my own place of business, but the way we work, we leave all our stones unmounted, so you can select the individual diamonds to put in a piece.
If you work with a store like that, they’ll match the stones as best they can in terms of visual size, color, and aesthetics (Don’t overly fuss about clarity on earrings- focus more on the fire and brilliance looking similar).
It will probably be a process and be a bit expensive, but it’s totally doable.

Can we vote for more than 1? I voted for diamond studs, I got a pair for my 21st birthday, I love them. Pearls sound really great, I would totally vote for those 2nd. I don’t really wear bracelets, i Find they just get in the way with daily life and especially at my job, ESPECIALLY charm bracelets, they just feel juvenile to me. I am not religious so a cross would be out. Probably a pendant necklace would come 3rd. I don’t wear rings beyond the obvious… now that I’m thinking about it though if you want to get me a diamond bracelet, I’m ok with that haaha…

@love108: I changed it so you can vote for more than one 🙂
It’s hard for me because I can think of LOTS of things I would want for myself, so deciding what other people should get is hard.
On my list of wants right now:
A full pearl set (either Freshwater or Akoya pearls… I love Akoya’s but they’re more expensive)
A pair of diamond studs (probably round, since we only carry round and princess and I don’t have the money right now to match a set of fancy cut stones)
A second band for my wedding set
A diamond upgrade for my wedding set
A right hand ring, probably white gold with diamonds

@Treejewel19: That’s kind of the way I’ve been leaning lately, as well.
Next year my sister and DH’s sister are both graduating (my sister from nursing school, his sister from high school), and I started thinking today about what I should get them.
My instinct is usually pearls, b/c I love them, but I know they’re a specific taste thing. I love them, but not everyone does.
I’ll probably go with diamond studs, in the end, as long as they don’t already have a pair (I know my sister doesn’t).
We have a great upgrade policy- you can trade them in at any time and put the full value towards another pair, with no pricing limitations on the new pair. So even if I go with a modest set, they can trade them in for something bigger later if they want.

I would always choose diamond studs. They go with everything and are literally something I rarely do NOT wear. Plus, an upgrade policy would be great–you can always go bigger and better!

I am dying for a diamond tennis bracelet.

I voted a fashion ring. Maybe I’m just ring obsessed from being on the Bee so much, but I’d love something pretty I could wear on my right hand (specifically something large and set in rose gold 🙂 ).

I’d love a ring or diamond studs. I already have lots of pearls and things. 🙂

I’m dying for a diamond pennant necklace. I already have diamond studs and I’m super obsessed with them.

If I had pierced ears, I’d vote for stud earrings. I don’t 🙁 so rings are my favorite type of jewelry to be gifted.

I voted pendant necklace- I think this style looks the best on different people. You are very thoughtful!
