Union Diamond in Atlanta. They also have a good online presence. The price we got on my diamond was about $3000 less than what we found anywhere else for the same specs, including online stores. We worked with a salesperson who really listened to our priorities and found exactly what we were looking for after two tries. FI also designed my solitaire setting in platinum and, because it didn’t have a designer label on it, the setting ended up being $300 less than any other platinum solitaire setting we had seen. I’ll definitely get my bands there too.

gemvera.com – it was a great choice, esp, since actually getting my FI into a jewelry store wasn’t going to happen.  I also got to design my own ring so it’s really unique looking.

@Dreambee:  My FI got my ering from Zales. He spoke with the manager of the store he got my ring from several times just asking different questions and he said he had a really nice experiance.

We ended up getting our wbands from there as well.

Shane Co. And they’ve been super awesome – we went into other stores that were super high-pressure-buy-a-ring-today type people, and the difference at Shane was refreshing.

Shane Co.  We liked their lifetime warranty, so for as long as I own the ring, they will clean, fix, repair, replace and re-rhodium my ring as long as I have it inspected twice a year.  And there is one close by!

Mine is Shane Co, too. FI said he hadn’t expected to buy that day, and had anticipated that it’d be difficult, but they were low pressure, and he ended up just getting it then! I haven’t been in yet, since we only got engaged at Christmas, but we’ve heard only good things about Shane Co from his brother and cousin who also got their rings there.

@Dreambee:  FI went to Jared and was pleased! I think we are getting our bands there as well.

@Dreambee:  He went to Jareds!  lol.  My sapphire necklace bday present came from Helzberg and that is excellent quality.  He started there apparently when picking out the ring but ended up at Jareds.  Amazing customer service.  The girl who worked with him and my sister when checking out settings always seems to be there and always recognizes us.  They offer a warranty plan that replaces any stone that falls out if I get it inspected every 6 months (and that has been a good thing since I lost one tiny pave set stone a few weeks ago) and they’ve been super quick with sizing.

ETA: We ended up getting both of our wedding bands there as well.  Already have them, just have to go back to get mine sized and soldered on before the move right after the wedding.

My fiance got my ring at Shane Co. as well and had a great experience. I went back to get my ring cleaned and everyone was very friendly and we also got my wedding band there too.
