So, hubby and I were talking about cars recently and he said he'd love to have a Jeep Wrangler. This TOTALLY surprised me because he's a city guy who's idea of a perfect job would require him to dress nice at an office job with his own cubicle lol I like minicoopers, but they're not a great car for a family (you try getting a car seat in the back of a 2 door car! lol We both like the Nissan Murano though. There's a few others he likes that I don't, and vice versa. What about you guys? What "real" car do you want? (like you'll drive it around on a regular basis. Not talking about ferarris and such lol) Do you and your SO agree?
All I want is a brand new Subaru Forester! I have one now and it's perfect for throwing my kayak on the roof and hauling my crap around. My fiance rocks a Honda Civic, which is perfect for NYC given the tight parking, but when he moves up here and we migrate to the 'burbs, he really wants a Lexus ESwhatever (not a car person lol). We figure that'd be a good balance...someday we'll make it happen I hope! My fiance LOVES the Murano, but I get to pick out the SUV-type car, so I win with the forester ;)
I love the car R and I share now - an old Prius - and wish they still made them!
I want a range rover lol... its very impractical and I will probably never have one, but hey, you asked lol

I have the Lexus 330 and it is great but with our furbabies (St. Bernard and German Shepherd) we need a bit more room than the 330 has.
That would be a SWEET Cmas present!
allisonc- omg i love the forrester, thats my dream car too! fi and i love to camp etc and it's perfect. i would want it in gold because it is the hardest to see dirt on!
I really don't knwo much about cars, and can't tell one from another..but I think the Honda Fit is really cute!
I just bought a Mini Cooper! We don't plan on having kids for a few years so I figured I would get it now as my fun car & then get a family vehicle. I really have always wanted a Lexus RX350. I think they are the cutest SUVs!
I used to want a Aston Martin V12 Vanquish... but since they don't make those anymore and I have no job...
I now want a Subaru WRX STI. I saw one in the sales lot and thought it was the best! I'd need to learn to drive manual. :/
I think I'd be fine with any of the euro-wagons, as I call them. Like a Honda Fit or Pontiac Vibe or Mazda 3 5-door... Or even a regular Impreza wagon. Or a Focus ZX3, I wanted one of those for a while. Then for a while I wanted a black '98 Mitsubishi 3000GT. Those Kia Fortes are looking pretty snazzy too.
At some point, I wanted a down to earth Impala. Until they changed the design. :(
We're considering something along the lines of a Subaru Legacy wagon or Mazda 5. As impractical as it is for hauling around materials (or someday, children), I'll always have a soft spot for my little Beetle. :o)
I like the mazda 3- 4door. But I've learned its easier to get kids into car seats with less bumped heads if the car is alittle higher off the ground, like a Murano lol
I like the Infiniti Qx54 I think it is (the full sized SUV). I like the Yukon Denali, the Tahoe, and the Expedition (I have one)....as you can see I like full sized SUVs =)
My fi has a honda fit--it's an awesome car and gets great gas mileage!
I want a yellow mini cooper...but probably will never get that so I'll settle with something that wasn't made in 1990's like my hunk of junk!
I have a Dodge Neon and I kind of what a yellow sport model made in 2005...

My in-laws have this car (Lexus RX 400h -- it's a hybrid) and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I secretly long to steal it from them!
@crebre- lol i agree :) I am driving my car into the ground bc I loooooove not having a car payment. I will miss that when it finally dies :)
No car!! I absolutely love driving, but even more than that, I love living in a city where a car is absolutely unnecessary. It's kind of bad since FI works for Hyundai, but he has a 5 year old Avante which we share with his parents....and it has 20,000 km on it. It's just so much easier for us to take the bus or subway.
A crimson Land Rover Sport.. FI says he we have to wait til I'm 60 before we can afford it. What can I say, this girl has expensive taste 
Since our family is starting to grow and our current cars (including my FILs car) are quite small, we need to upgrade to bigger. My hubby is 6'3", my FIL is 6'4", buddy is 85lbs and with a baby on the way we definitely need to get something soon. I am just not ready to do the van thing yet. So we decided on either a Honda Pilot or Toyota Highlander.
I just can't wait to really start searching. I am ready for a new toy :)
@corgs: yeah i have recently decided that i want to pour the money i'd be paying into advertising for my company. M on the other hand wants something more luxurious.. Lol since we both need cars (his broke down on Friday and I downsized the week before but haven't found anything yet) we'll both get what we want.
I want a small SUV like a Ford Escape. I currently have a Honda Civic and FI has a Mini Cooper, they're both 2007's so pretty new still, but we have talked about it and a new small SUV is def next =D
I would LOVE to have a Range Rover, but since I make "Toyota" money and not "Land Rover" money - that dream will have to wait!!
I also want a Triumph Spitfire (which would only be for driving in the summer), but that will at least have to wait until we get a 2 car garage...and likely longer! :)
I don't! I haven't driven a car in four years and I've never been happier :o)
Volvo XC90. I come from a Volvo family and currently drive a Saab so I'm not allowed to park in the garage when I go home!
For my real life: New Tahoe Hybrid - I'm driving my 02 Tahoe until it dies, and love having no payment, but I'm ready for a new, improved one...
In my dream life: The VW eos.
With 2 kids and lots of road trips, this would never work but I'd love to have one one day. It would be a nice car for my short commute and daily life...
heh, we're in NYC, but we'd like to have a car for various reasons. If we ever get a dog, we don't want a little one, so we couldn't take it on the train to go to the vet. My family is in Indiana, so when we visit it really sucks not being able to go anywhere unless someone drives us around. And it would be nice to drive out there instead of take a plane. I'd also love to be able to go upstate and go camping and such! We'll probably only end up with one car, and while I think it's important that we both approve (my stipulations are that it needs to be safe, and enough room for the family we want to have), my hubby will probably do the most driving so what he wants is most important. I just never really got into driving. I just like to look at stuff around me while I'm in the car lol I guess that's why I never cared about getting my license, and why I don't have one! :p
I like the car I have, a 2009 Mazda 3i. I just wish it was paid for. Also, I wish people would stop opening their doors into my car.
Mini Cooper! It's the only two door car I will ever own, but I can see one in my future!
I have a BMW 328xi right now, and it's way too small for FI, me & my daughter to ride around in all the time. We're actually renting an SUV for the wedding weekend because there's no way we could fit all we need to take with us in my car. SO, for the next one (my lease is up next July and then I'll be buying) - maybe a Murano or a Highlander?
I really want a Prius or a Honda Civic Hybrid! Do either of those come in a 4 door? If I couldn't have one of those, what I've wanted for years and years is a VW Jetta. An old boyfriend had one with heated leather seats and I fell in love (with the car, not the man). But those 3 are my practical cars- perfect for being awesome AND hauling around kids and animals.
Haha... Dream car 66 mustang. Modern car that I can live with 2006 Mazda 6. I fell inlove with it when they first came out and loved it when my FI went and got one. Now i want one even more. Favorite car though would be a mazda RX-8. Love that car.
@texasbride- Mines the 67 model! My mom's first car was a 65, she bought it for $500.
Other than a 67 mustang. I really, really want one of the brand new Camaros!
My DREAM car is a BMW X5. I have a 328i now - I went to BMW a couple of years ago to check out the X5 but realized there was no way I could afford it at the time...so they put me in something that I could manage. But my goal is still the X5 :)
This is a loaded question for me. I have been without a car for over a month now and it's impossible to find something that is in our budget that isn't too beat up! I got insurance money and want to spend less than that and not have a car payment since we don't have extra money for it.
We have a Prius and we love it! We can get so much stuff in it, it's amazing. We have made these huge trips to Ikea and bought all kinds of furniture, and it always fits! I think I will always like driving a Prius. We have an older model 2007, but the newer models have really good crash safety records. My FH doesn't like how it drives, because he's used to sports cars, but I am in love with it!
