Since the next generation is going to be dogs, I was wondering what kind of dogs everyone had?Can we see a picture?
I have 2 Westies (or West Highland Terriers), both boys, name Barney and Benny.
How cute!~We were this close to getting a Westie...instead, we got a Maltese. He's a big part of why I'm behind on my posts.
I don't have pictures :(, but I can tell you about him! His name is Kipper, he is black with sprigs of grey and he is a schnauzer/poodle. He's a mix- like me! And he has super long legs and arms, its so funny. His hair is curly like a poodle but when we cut it he looks just like a schauzer.
We got him from a pound. He was taken well care of at his old home but was found straggling on the street somewhere. I like to imagine that he was a circus dog because he is trained like he was one.
Such a good dog. Such a good post
OMG Lovebird, he is SO CUTE!
Josalyn, your schnauzer/poodle sounds adorable :)
I have a Bernese Mountain Dog. They are beautiful and kind and great with kids. Bernese are not known for their intelligence, and my last dog (also Bernese) was a very sweet dog, but lived up to that reputation. Not so with Catch. He knows several tricks, and recognizes several dozen words (as in "go get your ball"). At 120 lbs, he's a lot of dog... but great to have around.
Excuse the laser eyes in the second picture!
How about a havanese? I have a gorgeous one and a half year old little fella named Wyatt!
His name was Jax and he was a mini daschund. That dog was my heart. My hubby and I both honestly don't want another dog because it was too traumatizing losing him. He died 2.5 years ago (on Christmas Eve) and he was only 4...he died of what we believe was a brain tumor. They misdiagnosed him several times (they kept trying to say he had back problems and that it was all caused my a narrowing between some of his discs) and didn't listen to what I kept saying were the symptoms he was showing like seizures, blindness, paralysis, etc.
So, a word to the wise, if you KNOW something is not right with your animal get a second opinion, do your research, be careful with the drugs they want you to put them on, and don't let anyone tell you something you don't know is right.
I have a mutt... part lab, part pain in the butt. But I wouldn't trade Bailey for anything!
Here is me and my 8 month old Yorkie, Merlin [it was really cold outside]
Wow these dogs are all soooo cute. We have Maura a Australian Shepard/Beagle Mix. Shes a real sweety!
Here's my little monster, Bella. She's the opposite of everything I'd previously imagined a Yorkie to be like. The second I let her out after giving her a bath, she's rolling around in the grass, trying to get the clean off! I couldn't love her more! :o)
Ooooh that Bernese Mountain Dog makes my heart melt. Me and my FI want a Newfoundland...
But right now I have a little Jack Russell/German Shepherd mix. I wish I had a picture on this computer to share, but you'll have to use your imagination on that one. She's a terror, but so sweet when she's not chewing on every pair of flip flops I own or getting into the trash that I can't get too mad at her (usually).
@Lindy- I'm sorry to hear about Jax. It was 3 years before I could get Catch after Zolie died of cancer. She had been my best friend for 10 years!
@Doc: Awww, I'm also sorry about Zolie. They are like little people, so it's really hard to mourn. It wouldn't have made it any easier, but I just guess I felt like my poor dog and I both got ripped off with our time together because he had just turned 4. You make me feel like one day maybe we'll change our mind and open our hearts to another dog.
@Lindy - I am so sorry to hear about your little one; his time with you was cut way too short. What a beautiful little guy.
Everyone's dogs are so cute! Here's our two 'little' ones! They're both mutts and are each other's best friend. :)
I've never had a pet before (allergies attack my family with a vengeance), but P said that once we're in our apartment, we can get a Yorkie! I've wanted one since I was seven. (And we're going to get a kitten for him...he's such a cat lover).
@Lex- my sister raises Cavaliers. She's got 3 beautiful blenheim puppies right now!
I've got to add to this post. Huck and I have our 4 year anniversary on Sat!! Too bad, I'll be out of town. Opps. We *think* he's a beagle/jack russel mix. In the picture he's about a year old.
I have a zoo...Lady Scarlett is a Ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who is my best friend and traveling companion. Chance is a Pit-Bull rescue and my running partner. My free to good homes are four hound mixes that I rescued and hand fed since they were a day old, Sister, Hydro, Diesel, and Wags. And two cats.
We have an 83 pound white boxer named Casper, and he is the light of my life (along with my FI of course). We rescued him on his second birthday in 2008. His previous owners used him as a stud and no longer wanted to breed anymore, so they dumped him off. Their loss is our gain!
We have a 1.5 year old pomeranian chihuahua cross named Cupcake! We love her to death and can't wait until she's 3 so she's mature enough to have a sibling!!!
Awe everyone has the cutest doggies!
Lindy - I am so sorrry about Jax. My family had another Westie, Muffy, before we got Barney and Benny. We had to wait a few years before we got the boys, lossing Muffy was so hard. She had bladder cancer.
This is our Gopher. He's a Norfolk Terrier, and wicked smart. I just wish he needed less exercise, but at least he got me in shape for the wedding.
(we don't usually dress him up, but it was a Christmas sweater.)
This is our baby, Lambeau (can you tell which one of us got to pick the name?) He is a Jack Russell and everything a Jack Russell is supposed to be.
This is our blue tick beagle, Mocha. She's an ex-rabbit hunter we adopted in November. She's now a couch beagle. :D And the love of our lives.
This is our christmas card, and Mo with her favorite toy- a nearly empty peanut butter jar.
This is Miko (short for Mikomi, meaning "hope" in Japanese) and we rescued him from an LA pound last year. He's a year and a half old and 75lbs of trouble
The first picture is a rare moment of friendship between him and our cat.
these doggies are SOOOO cute!!!!!!!!! oh my goodness makes me want one so badly!
OMG! These pics are making me sad for my doggie! I have a Yorkie/Silky Terrier mix. He's been living with my FI across the country for the past 3 weeks, and I won't see him (them!) for another two.
Here's my little bundle of joy, Remy:
My little mutt is a yorkie/chihuahua mix. She was supposed to be about 7lbs...instead she's a 11 pounder! But she's perfect, so sweet and so smart. She's my companion and cuddle bug when the FI works evenings. I really couldn't imagine my life without her now.. She is a year 1/2 old =)
ROXY <3
My little Havanese Yoyo was supposed to be walking down the (garden) aisle with my little flower girl and ring bearer, but when the ceremony had to be moved indoors due to the weather, they told me that they had a no-dog-indoors rule! :(
I grew up with large hunting dogs....labs, german short-hair pointer, etc. However after living in a small Chicago apartment with my fiance, we had to down size. I chose a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel....aka "Charlotte's dog" from SATC. They are GREAT companions that just love people. My little Ellie is the sweetest little love bug ever! My fiance and I adore her so much that we are adding her brother to our household later this month!!
Here is Holly. I got her at the Humane Society when she was a puppy. She is now eight years old. She is the best dog ever!
