@Mrs Christopher:  I loved my bouquet-roses and peonies.  My BM bouquets came out decent, roses and carnations. All bouts were various roses-white for dad and pink for guys.

I also used hydrangeas for the ceremony and reception. Gorgeous, but high maintenance, I’d do it over again and stick to roses! The hydrangeas wilted fast.

I agree that flowers play a major part in the overall look of a wedding! My bouquet mainly was made up of ranunculus (since they’re so small), but space wise peonies. My bridesmaids bouquets were roses and lisianthus mainly. I was going for a romantic look with the flowers.

The bouts tied in with the bouquets. Groom had three ranunculus blooms with coffee beans and dusty miller in his bout and each groomsmen had a single cream rose with same accents.

I agree with PP that hydrangeas are high maintanence and I’m not a fan of them in bouquets, although they are cheap given how much space they take up! Phalaenopsis and cymbidium orchids are very common bouquets flowers! They are very sturdy! Wanted a litlte something different so each bout for our moms had two blush cymbidium accents with astilbe. We had a variety of flowers used in the wedding, but our florist still managed to keep it cohesive!

@Mrs Christopher:  I should have listened to my initial florist consultant! She told me that they were tough, and then I happened to meet with another who said it would be fine.  They were fine for the ceremony, but poor things were wilting when I recycled them for the reception!  At first, I thought it was bc my venue messed up and didn’t fill the cases with water (used for half the centerpieces), THEN I bought some for biome, never again!  Beautiful, but too much work! 🙂

luckiky, my photographer got photos of them before it went downhill (that of course I was the only one to notice) 🙂

My wedding is in a few weeks and we are using peach and cream colored garden roses, plum and peach dahlias, and burgundy scabiosa with dusty miller, eucalyptus, and hops as greenery. The BM and bridal bouquet will probably only have dusty miller as greenery, though.

I would have loved to use ranunculus and peonies, but they’re out of season.

My bouquet was all red roses. My bridesmaids had big bunches of white carnations. I had my doubts about those originally but they turned out really nice!

Peach Garden roses, dusty miller and seeded eucalyptus for my bouquet. Ranunculus, baby’s breath and seeded eucalyptus for my bridesmaids. White dahlias and greenery for bouts and then mint parrot tulips, hydrangea, seeded eucalyptus, dusty miller, white dahlias, cream garden roses and ranunculus for centerpieces and alter arrangements!

Ours were roses, but were unusual in that the bridal bouquets were arm bouquets rather than hand-held ones.
