@mylittleviolett:  I should have specified. I tutored elementary school students. I had been a teacher before going back to graduate school. I advertised on Craigslist, and found a couple families. My name spread from there. It was nice because it was flexible and I could change it (how many families/times per week) based on my class schedule.

Does your school have a writing center? That would have been my other choice if I needed something other than my TA position and tutoring.

I’m in Public Safety (working with fire departments and municipalities), and my degree is a MS in Public Safety Management (BA in Fire Science).

It was tough!  There were semesters I took 2-3 classes and worked full time (and tried to have a life too).  Working on my thesis was also tough while working, but I got it done!!  No more school ever for me 🙂

I was lucky and got a paid internship which included doing the work/research that I used to write my thesis. So I worked in a laboratory. During the school year I worked about 20-30 hours a week and during the summer 40-45 hours/week. Much of that work though was also going towards my graduate degree.

Before that I worked on campus in IT. It was very flexible, I could do my “homework” during down times and the pay was decent.

@mylittleviolett:  I have NO idea!!  I thrive off being busy though, so I was actually way more productive back then than I am now and all I do is work a typical 40-hour week.
