Just curious what everyone else is having as far as music is concerned?
Fiance and I are having a 5 piece Greek Band at our E-Party. Apparently they are going to also play some English music too, and the lead guy will act as our emcee lol
I’m nervous to hear this music because I’m not Greek (FI & His Family are though, obviously lol) I’ve never heard a Greek Band live before lol his parents said a Greek Band was a must, so we had to get them (Its no big deal to me or my family TBH)
So kinda music did/will you have?

You will LOVE the Greek bank. My uncle is from Greece, and we would always go to a festival every Sept and they would have live music. It was awesome.
I, however, am not Greek nor is my Darling Husband so we had oldies music (60s, 70s, and 80s) because that is what we live. We figured we would play that until the last hour and a half of the dance when all the older folks had left. Then after that the DJ could take requests.

Thanks for the reply!
I’m glad you liked the greek band, as a non greek. I’m sure the style of music is generally good, I just don’t know what to expect 😛

We are doing a play list. Since its in a church it has to be clean. I’m thinking lots of Motown esque, maybe some country and salsa y merengue (since I’m puerto rican and all lol)

Everything? Fiance and I have a pretty broad range of musical taste. Our ceremony music is “Let Me Down Easy” – Billy Currington (processional) and “Home” – Phillip Phillips. The reception is going to have all kinds of music. We still haven’t picked a first dance song, but Fiance is thinking “Timeless” – Airborne Toxic Event. We love lots of 80s music (Michael Jackson, Journey), lots of 90s R&B, and lots of dance-y pop, too.

We had a lot of oldies (Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, etc) and rock (AC/DC, Led Zeppelin). Our DJ also played a Justin Beiber song because someone requested it. If I ever find out who that person was….

our pre-ceremony music is mostly soft indy music, our ceremony music is a piano/cello version of A Thousand Years by Christina Perri and 1 Direction’s Little Things, dinner music is more soft/slow indy/pop music and dancing music is well…dancing music. club-esque.

We plan to do alot of 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. Fi LOVES to 70’s and 80’s, and I seriously love alternative from the 90’s. We’ll throw in a little 00’s – now, but just the songs that get stuck in our head.
We’ll probably have some rock too.

@Stephville: Probably a lot of r&b and 70’s funk and soul. That’s my personal preference music, though our first dance will be a Radiohead song.
So there will be random Gorillaz, and straigt up 80’d thrown in.

@vorpalette: We’re pretty eclectic too. Our wedding music is pretty country/80s heavy. Plenty of Queen for Fiance and we both love country. Some oldies to appease our parents and some Top 40 for more dancing stuff, because who doesn’t love getting down to some LMFAO?

Hmm….we definitely plan on having some oldies but goodies from the 70s, definitely some early 90s R&B, maybe some 80s, pop, today’s hits….pre-ceremony music will most likely be classical…need to have some italian music in there someone since FH is half italian.
