Yeah the goldfish idea is crazy. So is this something in addition to your favors or is this going to be the favor? We are probably going to do a candy buffet for everyone to take home in little bags or boxes.

The goldfish is a bad idea. Not everyone is going to want to take one home and you’ll end up being left with TONS of goldfish! We’re having a fall themed wedding in the Adirondacks so we’ll be giving our guests mini orchard apple pies. They are about 5-6 inches in diameter and come packaged in their own pie boxes. Seriously, our favors are one of the elements of our wedding that I’m looking most forward to.

@UpstateCait:  That is a fantastic idea!  Mmmm…pie.

I say that whatever you choose, it should be edible.  The mitts are a cute idea (I initially wanted to make scarves) but if they aren’t someone’s style or the right colour, people may not take them.

If you really want to do the mitts, I would donate all the extras to a homeless or women’s shelter.  That way, you have the cuteness of a table or basket stacked with mitts but you know that, should people not take them, they are going to a place where they will be appreciated.

My sister in law did the M&M’s in little glass jars… everyone ate the M&M’s at the reception and left the glass jars…. tons left over.
