I have to put salad dressing on it, I just can't eat it dry.

My favorite is French, but I have found that most restaraunts don't serve it!

My second fave is raspberry vinaigrette :)

I am also a huge fan of balsamic vinegar - usually with a little olive oil too!

I voted "Other" because it depends on the day... sometime I like Italian, sometimes ranch, and sometimes a raspberry vinaigrette.  Variety is good :-)

I like to use French dressing with a little bit of blue cheese dressing.

    Balsamic vinagrette or Italian.

My splurge is Ranch.  On the side of course!

I got this really simple recipe and I make my own dressing fresh every other day when I eat salad.

It's just one part olive oil, one part balsamic, one part brown whole grain mustard and two packets of Splenda.  It's simple and amazingly yummy!  These are the things that I always throw on my salad because they are easy and I always keep them in my fridge:

    romaine

    crumbled gorgonzola

    cherry tomatoes

    dried cranberries

    sometimes: cucumbers

    Ranch! Hands down.

But then again, I eat ranch with anything....fries, tortilla chips, veggies, ...

I voted other, because I never use salad dressing. One of my weird quirks I guess--my FI, family, and friends all think it's strange!

We love us some Caesar dressing (we make it with extra anchovies and lottttts of lemon), but our standard everyday salad dressing is just olive oil, red wine vinegar and a little bit of balsamic. It's a little bit tangy and a little bit sweet, and is pretty healthy, as dressings go.

vinagrette when I'm out; I make my own honey mustard at home though.

I don't eat any of the cream based ones because they're usually made with mayo, and mayo makes me throw up. :)

I love me some Ranch dressing. I can't eat it often as I am lactose intolerant but when I do have it,,,YUM!

I have to say thought that the best Ranch dressings are at the restaurants. I have yet to find the same caliber dressing in the store. Maybe that is a good thing?!

@ daydream - lol "mayo makes me throw up"  Does it actually, or are you just saying that cuz you don't like it?

I don't like mayo either, but if it's IN something and I can't really taste it, I'm ok with it.. Most WHITE sauces though are totally gross to me. Tartar sauce, salad dressings, mayo, etc. Blech!!!

I loooove ranch. Like the really good steakhouse ranch, not the Kraft stuff (which makes me gag). I will get in once in a blue room when we're, well, out at a steakhouse :) It's too good to resist and if it wasn't so bad for you, I'd eat salad a lot more.

@ Roddy - I know! It does seem like restaurants serve the best dressings. The ones at the store can't hold a candle to them usually, even the low-fat ones! (maybe it's all in our heads?)

Raspberry vinaigrette is sooo delish---it makes my salads taste like dessert.  If I want something more savory, I'll go with an Asian sesame dressing.

I like balsamic, raspberry, or olive oil vinagrette.  I sometimes go for an oil-based italian as well.  Any of the creamy salad dressings gross me out, and I have no idea why.

    I tend toward honey mustard.

@Boston Bee, I'm the same way with pasta/white sauces.  I don't like pasta as it is, but I don't care for white sauces on much of anything.  I like tartar sauce and ranch, oddly enough, and even that white sauce they give you at Mexican restaurants, but generally I think white sauces are pretty icky.

Not a lot of choices at all! :(

I love honey mustard (pretty much exclusively, SOME salads I'll do Italian) and FI prefers Bleu Cheese or Caesar.

My favorite dressing is Caesar. However, that is pretty fattening. I try to stick with the vinagrettes or just oil and vinegar.

MrsK2B -- I love dried cranberries on my salads!

@kjpugs, the best part about honey mustard is that you can keep it around for dipping!

Ranch all the way. I love good restaurant ranch (bottled stuff at the grocery sucks). It is really the only thing that makes salad worth eating in my opinion. :)

I can also eat if ranch is unavailable: italian or caesar.

I hate any kind of vinagrette.

I like the real French dressing: shallots, dijon, oil, white wine vinegar, salt, pepper.
