We will probably have 350 people at our wedding and I want to do some kind of snack bar that won’t be too expensive, but will also be something novel that most of our guests haven’t seen before. I want to do salty snack because we will have a cake and we will also have drinkers who would probably enjoy the salty snack.
I’ve been thinking about a popcorn bar because it wouldn’t be that messy and nothing needs to be heated/cooled. If we did this, we’d place baggies at each person’s seat and this would be the favor.
Any ideas of what we should do/what you guys would like to see?
I want something that is not messy (formal wedding, so no sliders/pizza), is easy to do, and reasonably priced. However, our caterer doesn’t offer this so I’d have to do it all on my own.
Here are some of the options our caterer offers:
o Assorted Kettle Chip Station $2 per Guest
o Tortillas Chips with Homemade Guacamole & Salsa $1.75 per Guest
o Miniature Bun Sandwiches $1.75 Each
o Miniature Grilled Cheese $2 Each
-I don’t exactly know how a kettle chip station works….

1) popcorn gets stale
2)tortilla chips would probably please most people (they can eat alone or with dip)
3)bun sandwiches would be most filling bust you probably want to offer a variety of fillings
4)grilled cheese is yummy but can be kinda messy!

@Buckeyegirl: I vote kettle chips. I’m assuming that they have plain chips and then seasonings for them? That’s how you get kettle chips at the arena. They’re served in a paper cone and you shake seasonings on them.

Oh yum! I like the Kettle or tortilla chip ideas because those seem like the type of snacks that would be universally liked plus people can control their portions more than with sandwiches. Also, they give greater variety. That being said, any of those ideas would be awesome!

@Buckeyegirl: Mini grilled cheese sound the best to me!

@Buckeyegirl: Everyone likes tortilla chips! It’s good for the gluten free crowd and less greasy too. Light and filling 🙂

@Buckeyegirl: i think the popcorn station would be a good idea. i doubt the popcorn is going to get stale that quickly, unless it’s a crazy humid day. but to be quite honest i love stale popcorn (odd, i know). if not the popcorn then the kettle chip station for sure.
