@mscuppycake:  We chose a simple elegant band to let the soltaire shine.

If you want a little bling, but want somethign simple that will still showcase the center stone, then you should get a channel set band like Kandiss16’s ring.

I would opt for 2.5mm or 3mm stones. With your solitaire, that will be the sweet spot, size wize.

@mscuppycake:  I, too, have a solitaire and wanted something a little bit untraditional for my wedding band so I got rubies! I had considered pink diamonds but that was a little too $$$. My set:

@mscuppycake:  PS Your stone is BEAUTIFUL. I love the profile and how it’s set so you can see the bottom of the diamond!

@ceebree:  +1. I love this look and think that either would look stunning. I love a solitaire paried with a nice blingy band.

I had this exact dilemma when I got my ering. I picked a solitaire so I could showcase the beauty of one beautiful stone. However, even though I love its simplicity, I wanted a band with some sparkle, but not a band that would take away from my center stone. I want my stone to stand out and I want that to be the focus when people see it, and I wanted my band to be beautiful all on its own without taking attention away from the stone. That said, I chose this beauty. I’m not sure what to call it…there are only 7 diamonds that go halfway around the band.

Hot damn! That is one large and gorgeous diamond! I love it! I personally would do a plain band I think to really highlight the beauty that is your diamond! If you want some more bling, I would do a 2-3 mm shared prong or channel set eternity/half eternity. Actually Tiffany is a really good place to shop for bands because they have a large selection of bands, especially their celebration rings, to get an idea of what style you like best. After you decide what you want you could get your band elsewhere if you find one more budget friendly, but it’s nice to have a variety of designs in one place to compare. You can’t go wrong whatever you choose!
