Of all the things along my road of planning for this year, for some reason every time i try on my wedding veil it hits me IM GETTING MARRIED! i tear up! i just can’t believe it, not even the dress put me into shock lol but as soon as i put on my veil i look in the mirror and all this planning of our wedding comes to life and my head starts spinning how excited i am to get married to my man
What makes all this planning real to you?

My DH and I are already married… but for me it was the showers. Seeing everyone get together, moving gifts into OUR home, the games, etc… totally became real.
It didn’t hit me that it was REALLY REAL, though, until the day of the wedding when I heard the first song start to play. Talk about an AHHHHH moment! : )

DH and I didn’t live together before we got married so a week before the wedding when I moved all of my stuff into our new house that is when it really hit me.

This week, we got our first draft of the ceremony from the officiant and I have my first fitting and bridal shower this weekend. This week is the tipping point when it goes from just planning to things actually HAPPENING. We put the finishing touches on the ceremony yesterday- we have the words we are going to say to each other at our wedding. Wow. And the fitting is a first step to having my dress ready for the big day. And the shower is the first “wedding event” and I am so excited to celebrate with my ladies- friends and family. Its like being at the top of a rollercoaster ready for the ride of your life!

@roxy821: same here! i think finally moving into OUR place together really made it real for me…we both had our own places but i basically lived at his and even though i was comfortable there it wasnt my home. Moving in together two weeks before the wedding really did it for me.

When we met with our priest and he read through the vows and had us repeat them. I was so excited/happy, I felt like I was getting tunnel vision and could pass out.

I didn’t expect it at all but when we went in to pick our ceremony music and the pianist played my entrance music to see how I liked it, I teared up a little. It just made it feel very real and I could picture myself walking down the aisle.

I went dress shopping for the first time the other day and when they put a veil on me, everything felt so real. It made me wish that we were getting married this summer instead of next summer. I hate waiting!

My fiance is moving in tomorrow, after we have been long distance for 4 years! I really think that will make it all seem real.

Addressing the envelopes gave me more excitement than anything else which is really weird. But I’m sure by the time the wedding has come and gone I’ll have a better “real” moment…

My dress. I got goosebumps and realized “I’m going to walk down the aisle in this dress. To my FUTURE HUSBAND. For real.” Now everytime I even look at pics of it I’m like 🙂 I’m getting married!!

Our getting married felt the most real to me when I went with my FI to pick up his wedding ring earlier this week. It really hit the both of us that we were getting married and that he was going to be wearing this ring for the rest of his life 🙂

For me it was getting the fiance visa and bringing my at-the-time FI home to the USA with me. With everything you have to go through with immigration and all the emotions that the process produces, having that final ok was definitely the “Ah-HAH!” moment for me. 🙂 Until then it just felt surreal. There was a sense of waiting and worries that something would go wrong until that final ok.
