    Hi!

I am getting rose gold wedding bands but my e-ring is white gold. I purposely chose it because its “brighter” than platinum. To me, no matter where I went or who I know that has it, it seems dark to me. I feel it’s just personal choice. I was told occasionally I will have to get it dipped or whatever but honestly I’m ok with that because I’ll be taking it to get cleaned every 6 months & tightened b/c it’s micro pave. Honestly, the maintenance of my ring matches me! Lol.

I LOVE rose gold & that’s my choice. I do like yellow too. 🙂

yellow gold, rose gold and platinum are similar in terms of durability…. where they differ is appearance. I would suggest yellow or rose because I personally don’t prefer the look of platinum (especially with a halo) but it’s a personal choice.

I have platinum and to me it looks very similar to white gold, and unless you told me I wouldn’t know which you had. I chose platinum because I didn’t want yellow and I have a nickel allergy, so I couldn’t do white gold. I really love rose gold. Look around and try things on- I think putting them up against your skin tone will really help.

I’d recommend checking out palladium, too.  The problem is that it isn’t available everywhere.  My understanding is that it is a lot like platinum  in color (although I’ve seen conflicting info on if it is slightly lighter or darker…) and properties because it is in the same family, but cheaper.  It will be darker than white gold, but no redipping required.

I chose platinum because that’s my preference. I don’t care for yellow gold, but I do really like rose gold. You need to decide what you like the look of best and go with that.

Everything I’ve read on the subject has mentioned that platinum will abrade the gold ring and wear the gold ring down faster.  Either go both platinum, or both gold.
