We’re bringing in our own food/bar and I’m trying to figure out how much dinner plates, appetizer/cake plates, glasses and flatware to get.
I found some good disposable plates and flatware to get, but we will be renting glasses. I’m also wondering what different kinds of glasses I should get – we will be having wine, beer and standard hard liquor. I haven’t gotten many rsvps back yet, but we are expecting 50-60 adults (15-20 kids)

@JacobsMama: The standard is one glass per person per hour (in the bar area) plus one water glass at each setting (which could also be a wine glass/goblet).
As for how many of each type, you’ll need to estimate how many are wine, beer, mixed drinkers and then rent accordingly. Do your best and then add 10% to each category to give yourself a margin of error. Also, do you have facilities to wash the glasses? If so, that alliviates some worry because if you are getting low, you can get them clean & use again. You could probably also do plastic glasses/cups for the children –and then you would have “emergency” glasses just in case.
Dinner plates are 1.25 per person, ap plates & dessert plates are 1.5 per person each for buffets/stations. If doing a table setting, you could just do 1 per person with a 10% overage (maybe a little more if plastic b/c they do break).
