I agree. It's easier to put "Mike Smith's guest" than call everyone and ask who they are bringing...
My cousins will probably have the guest's names changed frequently because unfortunately for them they have poor commitment issues so I guess I can just put Mike Smith's guest. My escort cards will be inside of our picture frame favors so I want to make sure everyone has one, thanks ladies!
If you only have to call a few people, I would just call to make it more personal.
I did try to call but they dont know yet so I dont want to stress about it or make it seem like im continuing to harrass them about their date.
I like the text "Guest of Mike Smith" or "Mr. Smith's Guest" if you are having a formal wedding.
I like "Guest of..." just in case they change their date at the last minute you wont have the stress of having to re-do the escort cards. I was going to do this even for +1s who I wasn't 110% sure of their names or if there was any possibility someone else might be coming in their place. It might be a little unpersonal for a few people but I'm going that route rather than having Mr. Joe Schmo when it is actually Jim Schmo or they brought Bob Jones instead!
