I've heard of a lot of different common nicknames for what to refer to a baby as before its born.
I've heard of Junior, Baby lastname, bun, and peanut.
Friends of our referred to theirs as Smidge .
We jokingly said that since ours will be a geek in training we should call it "Space Seed", but I'm glad that didn't stick.
I'm comfortable with our newest nickname of Timbit (in case you don't know, that's a donut hole from Tim Hortons), since I call FI Muffin, and he calls me Cupcake.
How about you?
Lima Bean, and to this day 99% of the time we call her "The Bean"
I'm not totally sure she knows her real name!
Baby Bear. I'm Mama Bear and he's Papa Bear. We had those nicknames BEFORE I was pregnant(we both snore.), so it's just cute to have Baby Bear coming. Plus Baby Bear helps because we're Team Green and we like to call him/her a name, not the baby.
I'm boring, I just call her "the baby." I'm weirded out by calling her by her actual name, I feel like it will jinx things.
I called her The Parasite. FH did not appreciate that.
My friend called her in-utero baby Elvis or "Baby E" because her sister's daughter is named Presley and they thought it was funny to have "Elvis Presley". When he was born, they quickly switched it to Conner.
Oh, we called DD tons of things.. Peanut, Porkchop, Booger, Dolly, Munchkin, etc. We still call her different nicknames from time-to-time, but mostly it's "Boog", now.
FBIL and FSIL had differnt names for their babies--first pregnancy was 'Soccer Ball', and the second was 'Fifa'. Can you tell they're soccer/football fans? LOL!
We call him our little alien, due to on the ultra sound the face pic he looks like a little alien. LOL DH doesn't really like that but I still call the baby our little alien. He has been little munchkin and little one so far
Wombat because they're fiesty, but we also had Moose, who will always be Moose.
"The berry" because one of our friends asked during my first trimester when I was going to start showing and I said "She's only the size of a raspberry" and it stuck! We even had one of my showers, a co-ed shower, with a cake that said "The Berry"

I called mine "bump". That is what she was and she rarely moved while in the womb. She was just a bump on a log.
I called my son my little tadpole. haha I loved the nickname... of course that was before we picked a name.. My mom hated it but I thought it was cute!!
We called her Lemon, though strangely as soon as she was born we jettisoned that nickname for a dozen others. Right now she is Bunny or Bean or Bunnybean or Beanieboo :)
We don't have any kids, but we call our future kids "coconut". I have no idea how this started hahaha
@ohheavenlyday: That is too funny. I called mine Parasite up until 6 months, because thats when they say it doesn't necessarily need me. Now it is just the Baby.
Baby Smushface Numero Uno...or Smush for short.
My parents called me "Babycakes" before I was born and my grandfather always called me "ChristmasCakes" as some weird combination of my first name and my name in utero.
I'm not pg and don't have kids but for some reason I want to call my future baby seamonkey while in utero. I used to really want seamonkeys when I was younger but my mom always said no, I only wanted them because I liked that mama seamonkey's hair bow.

I had been calling the baby McNugget because he/she looked like a grey McNugget on the first ultrasound photo. So for now it's 'nugget'.
Mine is similar to Sulli301 's!
When we first found out we were expecting the baby was "the size of a blueberry". Since then, even though its grown into larger produce sizes, my husband always asks how "the blueberry" is doing... and it stuck! I also LOVE everything blueberry flavored: muffins, donuts, vodka (haha), etc. so it works nicely :)
Called him lil bug... and poopah... which I still call him now at 6 yrs old lol.
my friends sister called her first son Thor...and she is expecting again and they now call the baby Coco.
@Soon2beeMrsM: I was going to say this too! i have a girlfriend who called her unborn sea monkey.
"today sea monkey is very active" or "today sea monkey is the size of a mango!"
Peanut, Baby Bird, Squirmy Wormy(shes THE MOST active baby ever in there. Even my doctors are surprised lol)
Before we found out the sex, I called her "the baby" or "Baby R". My sister called her "niephew", a combo of niece and nephew, because she didn't know which she was getting yet!
BHo. For Baby Holler. We don't have one on the way yet. Or at least I'm only 9 DPO and getting a BFN every day, but we have a blood test tomorrow and I have never prayed so much in my life as I have for BHo.
DH has already decided when we get pregnant he wants to call baby "POTUS" (as in President of the United States). He doesn't have a particular reason, he just likes the idea (and POTUS is only 2 letters away from FETUS).
Before we found out what we were having, we always called the baby "Butterbean." Now, we call him "Butterbean" & by his name. :)
Nothing creative yet for us, my belly is just starting to pop, so it hasn't really felt real yet. So far on sick days I refer to it as "your spawn" to my husband as in "your spawn really is making me sick today" or our little monster. In polite company we call it Baby Hoff- just a shortened version of our last name since it is quite small still.
I'm thinking of piglet for a cute nickname when it looks a little more like a baby.
We call him Luigi. This will not be his name when he is born...we haven't agreed on one yet. Sometimes I call him Wiggles, cause he does that a lot...this kid has some kickers! We should be calling him Thumper!
I'm not pregnant but when it happens, FI wants to call it Pudge.
It works for me! =)
my friends who were team green called it "baby meatloaf" because that's what the first ultrasound looked like. i was hoping to call it meatloaf for the rest of its life, but "it" was a she. we dropped meatloaf quickly. :)
My daughter was munchkin or Laneybug (laney is one of her nicknames based on a combination of her actual name Libby-Jane) My sister in law is currently pregnant and they're not announcing the name until after birth so she calls him "wiggles" or in her words "Mr Wiggles" if she's feeling formal :)
We aren't pregnant yet, but we already refer to any potential fetus as "Jellybean" or "Babifer".
"Cecil"
its a long story :)
and my family had to learn to call him by his real name after he was born, luckily cecil didn't stick!
