I’m having a hard time deciding on my colors. The problem is that I’ve already picked the bridesmaid dresses, and they are a very pale gold:
Originally, we were going to have the wedding at a venue with a lot of gold decor, so I thought the gold would be perfect. That is not the case anymore, but we have the dresses anyway.
I’m stuck at what other colors to pair with the gold. I know there’s a lot that we could do with gold, but I’m stuck. We are now having the wedding at a modern venue on the rooftop. Does anyone have any suggestions? Have you seen a wedding/inspiration board that worked?

We did a pale blue and gold, but I’ve also seen blush work really well with it!
Here’s a pic of my BMs to give you an idea of how the colors work together.
And here’s what our centerpieces looked like:
Gold is pretty versatile, you could even go with black to make it more refined instead of soft if you wanted to. Good luck!

@brittarose: I think you can pair anything with gold! It is such a beautiful neutral (and especially that champagne-y gold) that it really looks great with most colours.
What is your favourite colour? Do you have a favourite flower in a certain colour?
My personal favourite pairings with gold are purple and gold, pink/coral/orange and gold, ice blue and gold, black and gold.
The Perfect Palette is a great resource for colour palettes.

My colors are purple, ivory, and gold, but really ANYTHING works well with a gold like yours.

I agree with all the things I’ve seen above! Gold looks wonderful with just about everything. You could also just do black, cream, and gold:

I’m using red, black and gold as my colors. My venue is gold and black. I’m tying red into the centerpieces and the girls flowers with their black dresses. Black tuxes with red vests and red socks 🙂

Does your FI have a color preference? We chose ours because my FI and I happen to have the same favorite color, so that made it easy. It would be nice to have him weigh in on this question.

What does your new venue look like? We may be able to help you select a new palette to complement the space you are using.

@KCKnd2: and @MeiFrancis: have some really good questions, and I think we will be able to better help you when you answer them. I also just saw that you’re getting married in August, so I would recommend you stay away from some of the deeper color combinations posted (black/gold/cream, royal purple/gold/ivory, red/black/gold). Those are very bold, wintry combinations, in my opinion. Lots of the earlier suggestions, though, would look gorgeous!

Well, here is a couple pictures of the insdie of the venue:
It is very modern and hip, with local artwork on the walls and everything. We will have a small ceremony of the roof top and then bring the party downstairs. Really, any color would be okay I think. Andy’s (my fiancee) favorite color is blue and orange because he’s a bronco’s fan. My favorite color is purple. I like the post with the mint/pint/rose/gold, but I also like the purple/gold and black/gold looks. I’m just very confused!

@brittarose: After seeing the inside, I’m not sure those paler combinations would work so well. I think black/red/gold and black/cream/gold would be GORGEOUS, though! How formal of a wedding are you going for? Both of those combinations, I think, lend themselves to more formal, nighttime events.

I’m doing maroon and gold.
