    It totally depends on who you invite. Lots of elderly folks or older, stuffy family members? They’d probably go home early.

    A ton of college buddies? All of them would stay and dance and eat.

    Younger kids? They might get cranky and their parents would take them home before the fun ends.

    We did a late night snack for our guests and our venue coordinator recommended to to order 50% of our guest number

    @bee_happy:

    I’ve only attended one wedding that served a midnight “snack” bar and it was a complete waste even though the food looked really yummy. I’d say 95% of the food went untouched. I just couldn’t eat another thing! I really appreciated the espresso bar they had though!

    I’m not sure what the percentage of food was to guests but here is what we did.

    Our total guest count (counting us and the wedding party) at the wedding was 91. Most of our guests were aged 25-40 so many of them stayed until 10 or so. We served appetizers at cocktail hour, a plated meal, and cake. The meal was served at 5pm and we had the late night snacks brought out at 9:30. We served potato chips and dip, pretzels and dip, and beef and ham cocktail sandwiches. I’d say over 50% got eaten and what wasn’t we enjoyed the next morning at our gift opening.

    i’m going to agree that it depends on the party.  We had a big party crowd, both my parents and our friends, so the after party where we served food was pretty packed.  we had “bar food”  – sliders, mozz sticks, etc.  I know they actually ran out of sliders.  It’ll really depend on your crew though.
