All I've ever worn is Love Spell from Victoria's Secret, which I get tons of compliments on, and my fiance says he likes. I've never really been into perfumes at all. But I was browsing Bloomingdale's online the other day for registry ideas, and I got totally sidetracked and started looking at all the cute bottles, lol. I feel like maybe I need a ~grown-up~ perfume now that I've graduated college, you know? Sorry if this sounds too juvenile! I feel like a little kid writing all this out, haha.
What do you ladies wear?
Edit: Why do some people change their perfumes for day or night, or for different seasons? I'm genuinely asking. Do the scents react differently to our own natural scent as the day progresses or the weather gets colder or hotter?
princess - vera wang
pure poison - dior
Body shop oils - coconut and vanilla
BBW body sprays - raspberry vanilla and vanilla
I change it up but often I go without
Estee Lauder Pleasures
I'm a creature of habit so I've worn that for over 10 years now.
Romance by Ralph Lauren
But usually Very Sexy by Victoria's Secret
Oooo I love Armani perfumes!
My favorites:
Armani Mania or Diamonds for every day
Armani code for evenings (no idea why I feel the need to only allow myself to wear this for going out at night lol)
I think out of all of it Armani mania is my favorite though - it smells sooo good
Gucci Rush is my favorite, and I tend to wear it more in the cooler months
Victoria's Secret Very Sexy 2 (I think?)
Victoria's Secret #88 (they had this a few years ago... wish they still did... I'm trying to use the last of the bottle as slowly as possible because I LOVE it!)
I also own Victoria's Secret Heavenly and wear it on occasion
I'm thinking about getting Vera Wang's Princess for the wedding
i switch it up!
pure poison by dior (lots of compliments)
viva la juicy by juicy couture
armani mania
hypnotic poison by dior
pink sugar by aquolina (also gets a lot of compliments)
chanel chance and miracle by lancome are also old favs
i looooove perfumes! i just like having the option. sometimes i'm in the mood to smell more feminine, other times i prefer stronger scents. still not sure what to wear for the wedding!
Oh! And Pink Sugar by Aquolina... I need to go buy another bottle of that :)
I'm currently rotating between:
Hot - Ralph Lauren
My Voyage - Nautica
Miss Cherie Dior - Dior
Brit - Burberry
Summer - Calvin Klein
Be - Calvin Klein
Candies - Liz Claiborne
I usually change mine with seasons, just because in the winter I tend to like warm/cozy scents like vanilla, and for summer I like fresh or fruity scents.
My favorite wintery scent this year was Jessica Simpson Fancy Love... not a fan of the name, but I looove the smell and got many compliments on it.
Then I just recently discovered Sarah Jessica Parker NYC. It's kinda fruity and just smells summery to me, so I guess it's becoming my summer scent now. :)
I absolutely HAVE to change perfumes every few months, no matter what. I get bored too easily with them. :)
Abercrombie and Fitch 8 is the best smelling perfume I have ever had/ worn... I've been using it for the summertime since I was a sophomore in high school! I also now like Jessica Simpson fancy ad for the winter Burberry Britt... the original.
Oh and I also recently bought Victoria Secrets sexy little things noir... love the bottle and the scent!
Angel in the winter
Escada in the summer
I also love body sprays, keep them in the refrigerator in the summer, refreshing during hot sticky days
Since it first came out, I've worn Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel!

I just love it; I get so many raves over it whenever I wear it. It really compliments whatever natural scent I have going on; nothing else I've ever tried has given me quite the same positive reaction
Last September though, I picked up Marc Jacobs' Lola, because I'm a pink grapefruit freak (the perfume's top notes "sparkle" with it) and crazy about the bottle:
I do get a lot of compliments on this one as well. However, I wear it sparingly, as it's REALLY sexy and I love to wear it during the day!
I now save Coco Mademoiselle for special occasions + night time, but I don't really have a reason, except that the Chanel is more expensive, so I try to stretch it, lol.
Try browsing reviews at Sephora:

I'd start by clicking on 'Top-Rated Fragrances' on the left and check out how people describe it. Or, try this:

Happy fragrance hunting doll! And I used to wear Love Spell's body butter all the time; it's gorgeous, I don't know why I stopped!
Flowerbomb by Victor & Rolf - I get compliments from total strangers all the time!
Chanel #5 and Eternity, I will very often just wear a body spray from Bath and Body works cotton candy or warm vanilla sugar during the day. Unless I am fishing with the FH, then I always wear the Chanel, it keeps the mosquitos away (totaly works I swear).
@tksjewelry: I am so jealous that you wear Warm Vanilla Sugar! I love it so much, but I'm allergic to most all of Bath and Body Works' fragrances. :(
@JadoreGlamour - It is so weird it is the scent that gets the most compliments from men and women. Are you allergic to all the brands or just that one? There are some others that are almost the same just other companies, my FH can't tell the difference (I keep a small bottle in my bag from another company).
I used to wear lady stetson as a younger woman and I used to get a million compliments on that too. So weird, the least expensive scents get the most compliments.
@tksjewelry: No, as far as I know, it's just the BBW scent I'm allergic to! I guess I've resisted other warm vanilla sugar sprays because I worry they'll be toooo sweet smelling? Obviously not, which one do you use?
And I know, it's funny how attracted people are to basic scents! I think because vanilla is comforting and pretty; it's unoffensive and reminds people of baked treats, lol.
Jessica simpson
Ed hardy
almost all victoria secret perfume
twilight woods
perfume from the buckle
abercrombie
I most often wear 2 by Hermes- Un Jardin en Mediterannee and Un Jardin Apres la Mousson.
Sometimes I just wear Nectarine Milk lotion by Fresh.
Fi recently bought me a perfume for the first time- Les Nuits d'Hadrien by Annick Goutal. It is much stronger than what I normally wear but I do like it for evening sometimes.
Try Scentsations vanilla sugar at kohls, it is the most similar. There is also one they only carry at christmas at victoria's secret.
Thanks! I'm definitely going to hit up Kohl's, because I really do miss that scent. :)
With Love by Hillary Duff...i love it & its FI's favorite
Paris Hilton and Lucky You
I love all variations of the Chanel Chance -- the Original , Eau Fraiche and Eau Tendre, although I only actually own the Eau Fraiche (and wear it almost daily). I just nip a spray or two of the others when I'm home, since my sister has them both. :)
i usually wear a victoria body spray but the one im using for my wedding day is beyonce heat
EDIT: I have no idea what happened that posted several of my posts... sorry! I am leaving one and blanking the others... yikes!
A few weeks ago I received a sample of Ed Hardy Hearts and Daggers. FI smelled it on me one day and said he loved it. I have worn others around him - Lola, Coco, Burberry, Ana Sui and Victoria Secret - but Hearts and Daggers is the ONLY one he has complimented me on. I am currently wearing that. The Chanel Coco is so STRONG! I only wear it when I go out on special occasions. Burberry is an awesome smell that can be worn year round and to any occasion. I like a variety of scents I can wear for different things... The Body shop coconut essential oil is also awesome!!! Coconut rules :-) and it is great for casual wear during the day.
I wear Dolce & Gabbana "The One" everyday. I love it! A friend got it for me as an engagement present. So cute. I used to wear Live by JLo and I got complimented on it all the time. I love SJP Lovely but can't wear it cos it makes my throat itchy. Bum!
I love perfume. Some of my favourites would be:
DKNY Be Delicious
Britney Spears Fantasy and Midnight Fantasy
Nina by Nina Ricci
Daisy by Marc Jacobs
Alien by Thierry Muglar
Hugo Boss Deep Red
Vera Wang Princess
Paris Hilton (the pink bottle with black stripes)
Hugo Boss, Boss Orange
Those are some of my favourites.
I rarely wear perfume, but on special occasions I wear La Vanila, which is a great line of artificial chemical-free and/or organic ingredients beauty products that smell delicious. And they last a long time and are pretty inexpensive too, despite smelling fairly complex and totally luscious!
I wear Calvin Klein Euphoria & Hugo Boss Deep Red (spring/summer - fall/winter) and keep Jean Nate in the fridge for really hot days.
As to your question about changing fragrances with the seasons I find that deeper scents (like my favored Deep Red) can be a bit much in the summer - when it's super hot the scent can "bloom" a lot more and make me feel like I've bathed in it. And day to night scent changes can be about perception - sometimes wearing a "Hello lover..." scent to the office can cause issues!
