Me on my back, hips propped up on a pillow, him on his knees in front of me, holding my feet to his chest. I've heard that missionary is the best for conceiving, but I think the more important thing is to lay down and chill out for a few minutes afterwards, so that all the sperm has a chance to swim up without having to fight the gravity of you standing up and walking around.
We're not TTC nor have I ever been in that position, (no pun intended). But from what I've read, the best position is whatever gets his penis furthest inside you so there is less distance for his guys to swim. Doggy style is actually perfect for that as that provides deeper penetration than say, missionary.
It really depends on the position of your womb. I found out only after I got pregnant that my womb is tipped backwards and that quite a few women have this issue. if your womb is tipped backwards or tipped forwards then the standard advice to lay on your back AFTER sex may not be right for you

The month I actually conceived we threw everything out the window, no laying with hips elevated, any position that we hadn't used because it seemed like it wouldn't work (me on top, etc). We had been trying for 13 months, and I was tirted of it all, and we were waiting for fertility testing. My advice would be to not think so much about positions and such and just get it done however it feels best!
We were preventing when I got pregnant. (we had tried for a yr and nothing!) I got on top around the fertile time and bing, bam boom Baby Bear came.LOL
@TurtleDoves: You could try an alternative to DH's fav: from behind, but lying on your sides in a spooning position. As for my experience, we didn't try any specific positions, just our favs. I did elevate my hips for a good 20min afterwards.
I would think women conceive the most in the most used positions- missionary, doggie, side... Simply cause that's how they typically do it as a couple =) I'd be surprised to hear someone say "yup! it was the reverse cowgirl wheelbarrow that did it!"

I'm to curious about this my husband and I both like the cowgirl position/me on top and I'm terrified it will all fall out LOL.
We got pregnant on our second month and we did missionary and then I relaxed afterward, laying down. We also had sex 6 days in a row during my fertile period, which we had not the month before...I really think that helped *us* or maybe it was coincidental :) Good luck!!
@MissDareDevil: Actually the reason most guys like doggy is because they can getin deeper.
There are only 3 days I possibly could have concieved with my son and one I was on top and the other two were doggy. I don't think there is a specific way that works best because for some women certain ones won't work.
We conceived DD in doggy position. As a matter of fact, we were using the pull-out method, and FI missed pulling out by just a second.. lol.
I think we were in missionary.. may have been cowgirl.. we did it every day the weekend I was conceiving and we alternate those two positions the most. My sister said the month she got pregnant, she elevated her hips to help gravity after they finished.
Don't worry so much about position though, have fun!!

Thanks ladies! I officially feel safe about trying all kinds of things without being worried:))) and yes...i'm that girl that has her legs up in the air for 20 mins after so that's gota help;)
@KatyElle:I shouldnt even admit this but I can;t get him to finish while im on top so that' never get me pregnant....boo:(
@TurtleDoves: Well that's my favorite position (lol!) so maybe the odds were just in our favor for getting pregnant that way!

All the places I've read say that it doesn't matter was position you're in while having sex when TTC...But I have a hard time believing that. What positions were you in when you got pregnant/what positions do you do while TTC?
TMI ALERT: My DH prefers to do it from behind..fun...but it doesn't seem like a good way to get his swimmers to stay up there & I don't want to take out all his fun just because we're TTC..:(
