If I remember correctly, what I did during the week of was my mani and pedi the day before the wedding. I was offered a massage but the last time I had one, I got pretty sick and that was after drinking a lot of water.
I wouldn't get a facial unless you get them regularly -- it can really irritate your skin!
I'll wax a few days before and get the mani/pedi the day before.
i did eyebrow wax 4 days before, mani and pedi the day before, and massage day of (gift from dad). loved the massage- especially because i had a migraine that day so it really helped.
I'm planning on a mani/pedi and a massage. My brother's girlfriend is a masseuse and she offered to do it for free!
I'm waxing and getting a facial a week before (I'm a quasi-DW bride and do not trust anybody besides my go-to esthetician to do this for me!)
I'm doing a mani/pedi the day before.
This is big time pampering for me, as I don't usually do any of this stuff! I'm a little worried about the waxing so far in advance though...I guess I can have my makeup lady tweeze any rogue eyebrows the day of if need be.
Cut and color ten days before, waxing a week before and then mani/pedi the day before. I wish there was time for a massage in there, but it's just not in the cards...
My pre-wed week involved a mani/pedi (morning of the wedding) and a 30-minute massage (3 days before wedding) - that was the best idea ever! I was totally relaxed after that.
My plans are:
Facial (I get them regularly, so will probably get one 1-2 weeks before)
Color/highlights – week before
Eyebrows – not sure when but those puppies are getting waxed
Day before: mani/pedi
I’m debating getting this thing called a “body polish”, where they give you a massage, put oil on your skin and nice lotion all over and stuff like that so your skin glows. It sounds heavenly, but it’s also $90, and its not like I can’t apply my own lotion to myself lol……hmmm……
@gabrielleelise -- the body polish is heavenly. my best friend and I h ad one before her wedding as part of our pampering and I would love to add that to mine, but like you said, not sure I can swing the bling.
But if you can afford it - treat yourself! Totally worth it.
definitely a mani pedi... i'm getting my final hair trim/dye 2 weeks before... and i'm really hoping i can get a massage.
I'm reallly not sure whether I should color my hair :( I was blonde for two years and then went back to my original color a year ago...I've been patient trying to grow it out but I still have a lot of the ends that have faded to a much lighter brown hair.... I know I'll have to for the wedding, but I hate having to color it again after going so long without it. Anyone ever done a semi-permanent?
I agree with @ribbons...don't get a facial right before your big day if you don't get them on a regular/semi regular basis...or atleast get a test one a month or so before and see how it works for you (explain your concerns at the appointment!)
My week-of-pampering:
Facial (I get a realy gentle one to make my poors nice and tight and skin refreshed) 2 weeks prior
Hair (cut, colored, highlighted, conditioning treatment): 1 week - 1.5 weeks before
Waxing (I get bikini and eyebrows and underarm---usually I shave my underarms but I don't want any bumps for "I do") 1 week before the wedding
Massage (1 hour full body)-day before the wedding
Mani/Pedi-day before
Hair/make up-day of :)
I'm planning on:
Bikini wax - 1 week before
Highlights/trim - 1 week before
Mani/Pedi - day before
Massage - day before
I get my eyebrows threaded, so I'll do that a couple days before.
Teeth whitening program from the dentist. It's a process but I used to smoke & FI still does, plus I love my coffee so we both need it.
Cut & color a week or so ahead.
Mani & kickbutt razor pedi the day before. LOL
The massage thing is a good idea. My nail salon has that $10 per 10m massage deal - I might look into that. ;)
Just a little advice - the same goes for waxing as it does for facials mentioned above. If you don't do it often, or have never done it before, before your wedding isn't the time to try it for the 1st time. Def. go to try it way before what you want done for the big day otherwise you might be uncomfortable.
ill be working all week and only taking the Friday before off from work..
but after work on Thursday, I will be getting an hour long relaxation massage... then Friday morning are mani/pedi's with my girls :)
i'll probably get my hair trimmed three weeks before... just enough time for it to grow out a lil bit but still be healthy :)
I plan on getting my nails done the week of, but that's pretty much it. I think that my biggest beauty aid will be making sure that I get a full night's sleep every day for a week before the wedding... and I'm not above using some Ambien if necessary!
I really hope I'm able to sleep the night before! I usually never get sleep the night before I'm traveling or something big is happening.....and this is definitely one of those BIG events...
I'm not very big on pampering myself, but I will be getting a mani/pedi, cut & color, and definitely a massage. I'm getting married a couple of weeks after I take the bar exam - so hopefully this will relieve the unimaginable stress I will be experiencing.
I'm planning on
Mani/Pedi the day before. A 30 min. massage about 3-4 days before-was told not to get a massage any closer to the wedding "just in case"...(soreness/pain)
A massage five or six days before the wedding, a manicure three days before, and probably an at home face mask or something like that. I'm super excited for the manicure because I've never had one before, not counting slumber party ones. I might get a sugar scrub or something like that, but it would be an at-home product.
I'm a pretty simple girl, so no waxing or anything like that for me.
Sounds like we all got about the same get pretty plan. I am going to have my very first bikini wax about 5 days before our wedding when I get my hair colored and trimmed. I plan on doing a pedi two days before the wedding. A massage the day of the wedding and a couple drinks with my girlfriends and then of course hair and make-up the day of with my BM.
Mani/Pedi, Spray tan, teeth whitening, massage, hair color appt. No facial because I am scared that my face will get all puffy or something and no waxing because I am a big chicken.
I'll do mani/pedi, spray tan and massage a few days before. Am hoping FI comes with me for the massage!!
Oh my I hadn't even thought about this.
I'd definitely nix the facial right before the wedding. Everytime I get a facial I purge and breakout.
I read somewhere that it works wonders if you get monthly facials for the 6 months before the wedding, so I am going to try that.
Will a wax 5 days before last? I've never had a wax but it sounds like a good idea if it does last that long.
I will have my eyebrows threaded a few days before, because it makes me red and irritated. I will have a mani and pedi the morning of. Maybe even a massage thrown in there too.
My wedding is on Saturday and is a destination wedding in the mountains so I'll have to get most of my stuff done the days before I leave.
Cut and color my hair and one last professional teeth bleaching session the week before, a brazilian bikini wax, leg waxes, massage, possibly body polish that Monday, eyebrow wax and eyelash extensions that Tuesday and a mani/pedi before I leave. And then hair and makeup done day of.
I just had a light laser peel to get rid of some old acne scars but I've had one before and the major redness clears up after a week. And I had my dentist close up a small gap in my smile that I've always been self-conscious about.
I have some tan lines from last summer that I've been trying to get rid of and they'd faded but not as quickly as I would've liked. I tried an airbrushed spray tan, which I've had before, a few months ago to test it, and it really didn't help the tan lines. It gave me some color which was nice since I'm normally pasty white (a natural redhead) but I'm not too fond of the way it makes my skin feel after the first day.
Instead, I've been wearing tube tops and lathering up on sunscreen so I don't burn. If all else fails, I'll have my makeup artist do a light layer of body makeup.
I guess I've been using the wedding to really pamper myself lately, but I figure I only get to do this routine once.
waxing lasts until the hair follicle grows back. the waxing (if its done properly) removes hair at the root. for me it can last anywhere from 2-6 weeks.

I figured:Mani, Peti, waxing: legs, eyebrows, bikini line...
Facial? I'm so scared of something going wrong...might do the eyebrows a week before
Just interested in seeing what I might be missing out on :)
