What project/activity has replaced wedding planning for you?

I'm currently still working on finding something else to throw myself into.

I've done two things. First, I go all out on parties at home now. I really like getting into the nitty gritty details of them now and I plan them for fun and spend lots of time making DIY details. Second, I opened an Etsy shop. I still love wedding DIY projects and it's a good way to exercise my creative muscle. It's really fun and brings in a bit of extra cash :)

Right now it's frantically trying to get two cross-stitches done for my SIL and BFF who are both expecting the end of January - why oh why did I get such big ones???

And also trying to get two parent's adoramipix albums done for Christmas and eventually do one for DH and I.

And here I thought I'd be bored without wedding planning :P

@LGenz: congratulations! it's about time for me to hop on that train, i said i would after the wedding too. :]

i've only been married a few weeks so i'm still weaning myself off wedding world and taking care of post-wedding things (thank you cards, name change, settling with vendors, etc). DH and I are long distance so i'm also applying for jobs closer to him and intermittenly creeping the realtor website for houses!

Finding a new job and finding a house to rent (did NOT expect that to be so difficult, but we are in a really rural area) have kept me busy since June.  We move in next week and I start my job the week after that, so those things are pretty much covered.  My new things will be decorating our new home, Thanksgiving/Christmas (I've been counting down the days until Christmas for awhile now...super obsessed, its my fave time of the year) and researching all I can about TTC/pregnancy since we will be starting TTC next April/May!

School!  Which is what I should have been spending the time on while I was wedding planning... oops. =) Now I'm also job hunting, and in November I'm participating in NaNoWriMo, where you write a novel during the month.

I've spent most of that former wedding planning time coming up with a training plan to get me to the start line of the Disney Half Marathon in January (and then following through with said training)!

    Photography and programming!!!

That is because...my wedding photographers inspired me so much, they were so passionate about their craft and job, I want to get back in to more artistic things, and I love learning new artistic skills

and programming...DH is a programmer and he loves it and it's a super flexible job. I guess I'm drawn to hobbies that I see people doing for a living that really enjoy it....

    I want to enjoy my job one day too.....;_;

And also...preparing to go on a year long trip around SE Asia....

    But photography and programming!

Cooking and baking. We almost never eat out anymore, and I bake stuff 2-3 times a week. I even started a baking blog.  On the plus side, it's not that expensive of a hobby (we spend about the same on groceries as we did before, since we're not buying junk food).  On the negative side, I've gained about 15 pounds since the wedding.

After the wedding was over, and things started to settle down for us, I kind of felt a void. I didn't know what I was going to do with all the free time that I suddenly had! I've been working on making a few crafty things for the holidays (table runner for Thanksgiving, ornaments  and stockings for Christmas). I'm also trying to learn how to knit. I love wearing scarves and hats in the fall and winter, so that should keep me busy for a while.

I've been busying myself couponing, cooking and looking for a new job. I never had that sad feeling after the wedding. For me I just felt like I had more time to spend on other things that didn't make me want to rip my hair out.

I've been throwing myself into getting my freelance illustration & design business off the ground. Which is a lot of fun! I've just booked my third bride for custom wedding invitation design!

For awhile, though, it was getting me a new used car. Instead of researching flowers and song choices, I was researching Hondas and Fords.

I've been getting myself ready for TTC...taking prenatals, working out, and getting all the fun doctors appointments out of the way that I'd procrastinated on before the wedding.  I've lost 10lbs since October 1st!  Woohoo!  Other than that, I've been into scrapbooking and making jewelry a lot of evenings.  :)

I am throwing myself at home DIY projects.  I started with a dauntingly large list but now I have backed it off to be just little things here and there.  For the next two weekends I am going to spend much needed time in the back hallway - its a disaster zone!

Growing a baby! We got pregnant on our wedding night :) So that took over right away, and I also had to find a new job. DH was very involved in wedding planning so he's filling his time by looking for a house for us and finding SD a horse. Which he did so now he's setting up a pasture at his parents house and fixing up their trailor. Luckily we've had lots of excitement lately so we don't miss planning!

I'm planning my DH's companies 2nd annual xmas party! It's taking up my time for sure.

I am reno-ing the house (where I can) buying new furniture with the money we got from the wedding.

Being a better employee (sorta... I AM here at the moment... LOL)

I didn't replace wedding planning with anything other than resuming life and feeling like I had more time (and money) to enjoy it.

@.twist.: "Being a better employee" hahaha! I don't know what you're talking about. Planning a wedding doesn't interfere with one's job at alllll! ;D

Yeah, I should probably work at that, too.
