i know the hive is full of pet-lovers, and was wondering… what do you plan to do with your furbabies the day of the wedding?
or what did you do with your furbabies (to the newlyweds)
i have concluded that i def want to make sure we get pics with them on the day of… but i don’t want to keep them locked up at our house all day… but am afraid if we board them (since everyone who usually pet sits will be with us)… we won’t know who to have take them in nor do we want to deal with day after tasks of picking them up and etc on top of everything else that needs to be taken care of the day after.
what do you suggest we do?? (FI and i will be coming back to our house for night.. but we would be gone roughly from 2pm-1am)

I’m going to look into a dog-walker/sitter. Just someone who can come and let the little guy out (actually it will be 3 dogs since my parents are staying with us and bringing their dogs) maybe twice in the day. Then my parents are going to stay at our house the night of!

We actually left our Buddy at my parents house. The hubs and I took a few pictures with him and he was roaming the house while we were all there. Since our wedding was later in the day, we were able to feed him and walk him before leaving then he was there alone as if it was a normal working day. We came home at a decent time to take care of him before going off to our hotel for the night.

We’ll have to board him, unfortunately.

@roddybride, our yorkie is BUDDY too! LOL… i’m thinking with the timeline, that we might do that as well… the girls and i will be at the house until 2pm – 3pm… and FI and i will be back latest by 1am… so it’s a lil bit longer than our typical work day (9-10 hours)

For our pets (dog and cat), we are taking them with us to our destination wedding. They will stay in the condo (which FI’s family owns so having pets is no big deal) and my family will take the leash for the dog during the ceremony.
For your situation, maybe you can bring them to your wedding and have people take turns holding the leash. If not, I like the idea on hiring a dog walker/sitter to come to the house.

we had a dog walker come, that was recommended by a close friend. he has seperation anxiety and can get a little crazy, so we wanted to keep him where he is most comfortable and familiar, our home! you could ask your vet for recommendations.

Because our wedding is late and because he’s coming with us… i think it’ll actually work out great. I think our wedding won’t start until 530pm or so and we’re hoping to have him in the ceremony. then he’ll be with us for pics, and i’ll ask my DOC to run him home, let him out, and feed him (our venue is about 15 min from our house). The reception will be over by 11pm so he’ll actually only be alone for 3-4 hours!

We’re leaving ours at home…so sad because I’d love for them to be there but they get WAY to excited and I can’t be chasing puppies in a full lenght gown. But we’re only going to be gone from 12-6.
Do you have a neighbor who could let them out? Or maybe hire a dog walker to take them out.

We will unfortunately 90% be boarding her. 🙁
It sucks but we will be driving 6 hours to NYC with a lot of crap in the car. My niece is not that comfortable with dogs so having our pup there would mean constant monitoring which will be unnecessary stress for us. And we wouldn’t know who to ask to go take her out seeing as the venue is almost a hour away from my brothers house. 🙁

My furbabies will be with me. Luckily, we are getting married outside, and the reception is at the same place. We might stake them out or put them in one of the cabins during dinner.

I plan on just keeping them at home, theres really no other option…but we are probably staying in a hotel the night of the wedding, so ill probably have my BM check up on them!

We’re boarding our cat. We’ll be gone for two weeks and I’m just not comfortable having a sitter come in only once a day. She’s needy! 🙂 Our vet boards cats and it’s just down the street, so that’s where we’re taking her.

He will be going to the Standard Poodle Farm! He LOVES it there! He gets to play all day on the farm with lots of poodles 🙂

We are planning on having the wedding outside/at a state park. So hopefully our pug will be the ring bearer/flower doggy. I think someone from my family will probably take him to the hotel after the ceremony so we don’t have to spend the whole reception following him around to make sure he doesn’t get into trouble. I can’t wait to get him a tux or bowtie to match the grooms 🙂
