The job post reminded me of the random jobs I had throughout high school and college.
Let’s see, I worked at Chick-fil-a, chinese restaurant, movie theatre, stint as a Cutco knife seller, back to Chickfila, then Target, lab researcher, American Eagle and math tutor. Oh, I did volunteer at a hospital.
What random jobs have you had?

I started as a busser and then hostess at a Mexican Restaurant and I worked for the Parks & Rec dept for my city. My mom used to teach dance classes and I would spend 30 mins with the kids doing gym-like activities.
I worked in a kosher kitchen in a Jewish nursing home for a couple years, working my way up to 3rd chef!

My city made it really difficult to get a job before you were 18 (unless you worked at your family business). You had to get a special work permit that showed you needed to work, and even then no one would really hire you.
I did have a Saturday/Summer job starting the summer after my Junior year in HS. I worked in the youth sports department of Parks&Rec teaching kids how to play sports.
When I got to college I worked in InterLibrary Loan (wasn’t hard since my boss was my sister’s best friend!) and briefly did some transcribing work for a professor.
I transferred back home for school and now I still work for Parks&Rec, doing an after school program during the school year and day camp during the summer 🙂

At 16 I worked as a bagger at a grocery store, then I started at R’s parents’ nursing home just as a cook. Since then I’ve taken on more care duties. For about a year I doubled up on jobs and worked at DSW shoe warehouse as well.

Mainly in food service.
I prepared and served food at a retirement home – I did like it but it was stressful because there would be days we’d be understaffed and I’d be responsible for everything from prep, plating, serving and cleanup (and then starting over for the next meal) for a nice sized dining hall as well as those that wanted to eat in their room.
I waitressed in a steak house. I loved the food, loved the hours and the $$, didn’t really love the people I worked with and there were a suprising amount of unhappy people eating even though they were out to dinner, never saw the point of going out to eat and then basically staring with contempt at the person you went out to eat with.
My favorite job was beer girl on a golf course. I got to drive around a golf cart all day around the golf course and sell water and beer. And if there were tournaments it was good $$ for not a ton of work.

My first job was at West Marine. Then I worked at places like Limited Too, an Aerospace Company, my university’s annual fund, a yarn store (that was the most fun)

I worked as a receptionist/ office assistant for a trucking company for 7 years starting in high school. I remember I had to get a work permit the day I turned 16 so it was all legal & then I started working there. The owner’s daughter later became my unofficial foster mom & now I call her & see her as my mom. That job prettymuch changed my life :). Plus, I’m so good at reading messy handwriting, truckers write about as well as doctors do :P.

When I was 13 I started volunteering at the Zoo in the education and marketing department (my dad worked there and my mom had summers off… i think she wanted a break from 13 yo me). That led to my first “real” job in the gift shop there was I was 15. Then I worked at The Body Shop in the mall, then as a cashier in Tops (which is a grocery store)…. which by the way was the WORST. JOB. EVER. After that I worked at Macaroni Grill forevvvvvver. I did everything there, hostess, expo, busser, and when I was old enough, server. Then I worked as a server at Ruby Tuesday. In law school I worked in a legal aid office, a nonprofit, as a mediator for the court, as an assistant to the staff attorney in the dem caucus of our state legislature, and as a researcher in our AG’s office.
Whew. Thats a lot of jobs 🙂
