I have always, always, always done and kept my make-up in my bathroom. But it has always left my bathroom a total disaster zone.
I am considering moving all my make-up to the bedroom, but I don’t have a vanity or desk in there.
Where do you all do your makeup? And if a place other than the bathroom, do you have a vanity?

I do mine at a desk with a makeup mirror in my spare bedroom/office. I do my hair and makeup there. I can sit down to do it which is nice because I am not a morning person! Have a cup of tea and watch the morning news all at the same time!

@KateByDesign: I have a mirror over my dresser and a tray of perfume and nice lotions on there. I figured I would move my makeup into the bedroom as well, except now I go from the bathroom to the bedroom to grab something, and back again. I’ve continued doing my makeup in the bathroom, and I’ve realized that my five daily makeup products are in the bathroom. When I clean, I move them back to the bedroom, but it’s an endless cycle, lol.

During highschool and college I always had a desk in my room, which I would have a light up mirror on and do make up there. Now I don’t, so make up is always in the bathroom. Plus our bathroom just has the best light.
I know some people have a second bathroom, walk in closet, or some other dressing area that gets used for make up if the lighting is nice. I like being able to sit to apply makeup but with my current home there really isn’t an area for that.

@Ms_Purple: This sounds like such a nice routine! If I had a spare room or a den, I would try to start my day like this as well.

I do it in the bathroom. Butttt we only have 1 bathroom so if DH is in there I will go use the bedroom. I have to be careful because the lighting is different. I have an “office” space with a desk but I have a hard time sitting and doing my makeup I must be standing for some reason.

We have a really small place, so I stuck mine on a divider wall in the living room.

I do mine in the bathroom. No windows in there, which I would prefer, but there’s a lot more light from the light bar than there is in any other room. I would love to get a vanity for the bedroom, but I can see that not working out even if we had the room and better lighting (DH sleeps later than I do some days and will eventually likely be working nights).

We have a vanity area in between the two sinks in our bathroom. I bought a chair and just sit there to do my hair and makeup.

On the bus.
I have a little magnifying compact which is the only way I can see my face in a mirror well enough to apply makeup. So it doesn’t matter where I do it. And seeing as it doesn’t matter where I do it, I tend not to make time for it before I leave and end up doing it while we’re stuck in traffic on the way to wherever I’m going.
This means that my makeup disaster zone is my handbag 😀

@KateByDesign: I voted other because I alternate.
I keep all my makeup in our bedroom, but I realized that my finger prints (with product on them) end up everywhere on the dresser and FH gets mad about it. I don’t blame him haha.
So I’ll do my face stuff in the bathroom, wash my hands, then go to the bedroom & do eyes.

Bathroom for me because I’m obsessed with washing my hands right after applying foundation – I do it with my fingers, I’m hopeless with a sponge. The idea of handling my other makeup with fingers still icky from foundation totally grosses me out. I’m weird like that, I know!

If I do make-up , which I’m usually too lazy to do, I just do it in the car before I pull out (parked in my driveway). Since I’m only using a lip and cheek stain, it literally takes me 30 seconds. If I’m going all out with makeup (powder, eye liner, etc), then I do it in the bathroom. Since this only happens maybe once every other month, the cleanup isn’t too bad.

I do mine in that bathroom since SO & I moved in together.
I used to do mine at a vintage 60s vanity that was HUGE and I loved but just don’t have the space for anymore.

I do mine in bed while watching a Netflix series. I use the little tiny compact mirror and put it on with 1 hand…it’s no wonder I look the way I do…
