I’m not a huge fan of matchy-matchy everything, but if you have a preference of shoe colour, I would go with that and let the girls pick their own style of shoe. Gorgeous dress, by the way. You could go with a lot of different colours. Black, silver, gold, another accent colour. . . What are your wedding colours?

@Christy213: ok cute bm dress! I think it would be neat to let them pick their own in say..black or something. BUT they would need be the same height shoe and similar styles. Or you could just pick what you think would go. But this doesn’t always work because not everyone can wear every kind of shoe. I have a high instep and strappy shoes are not so comfy. Some people have low arches or high ones, etc. So I guess let them pick but try to keep it as uniform as possible.

Personally, I would give them a specific color and let them choose the style of shoe.  When my brother got married my sister-in-law picked out a specific pair of shoes that she wanted all of the bridesmaids to wear.  When I went to order mine, my feet wouldn’t even fit into the shoes.  If I wanted to be able to even get the shoe on my foot I would have to order at least 2 sizes bigger (and it was an open-toe shoe so it was OBVIOUS that it was the wrong size and looked TERRIBLE).  She was really angry with me when I called her and explained the situation (I felt bad, but it wasn’t like I chose for that to happen or did anything on purpose!).  I think she basically thought I was lying about the shoes not fitting because I didn’t like the style or something.  Ugh… bad experience.

What if you did some sort of black colored jewelry.. That might look great with the color of the dress and would tie in the color of the shoes.  You could even give them black clutches as a bridesmaid gift!

Black shoes that they choose would be a great option-most woman wouldn’t even have to buy them, and if they did they would certainly wear them again. I like when the shoes are all different.

I love that dress! I completely support picking a color and asking them to get their own shoes. Basically, not everyone likes the same style or heel height so this gives them the freedom to at least be comfortable and no one can blame you for picking shoes that are too expensive/high/narrow/etc.
