I know that if you do decide to wear heels you can put these little things on them so they have more surface area and you won't sink into the grass. Lemme try to find them and what they are called.
But I think flats will look fine.
edit: Heel Stoppers, here is a link: http://prettypinktoes.co.uk/cleanheels.aspx
Wedges or heels with a wider profile, e.g. a chunky heel? Can we see the dress?
oh, sorry, I tried to attach the pic and it didn't work. I'll try again
k, this is not the best pic due to bad lightingn and I look a little possessed but hopefully this helps a little. Otherwise, the dress is in the empress taffetta i believe, it's the less shiny material if you google it.

With a long dress it is pretty hard to see your shoes at all. So I think ballet flats would be fine, if that is what you want to wear.
Thank you!!! It is SOOO hard to get a good idea here but it really is beautiful. I will order a few pairs and upload pics as they come :)
I agree with the others - if you want to wear flats, wear flats! Wedges would also work =) I personally am a rebel and will have some walking in the grass but will not budge from my heels!!
k, so I looked at some wedge heels...not too bad. I, for some reason, was picturing the corkboard kind.
Does anyone know of anyone who has used them or some other kind of shoe that's good with an outdoor reception so that I can get an idea? I have high arches and I'm trying to assess whether this would work for me. Thanks so much!!!
ooo get heel stoppers.. I'm picturing you in some fantastic peep toe pumps!
lol...I think that I'll order some because they're sooo cheap that even if i change my mind, i can't really go wrong. Besides, then I can test them out :) (notice the excuse to buy cute heels)
Thanks!

Hello Ladies,
So I finally found "The Dress". However, before I go back to the store to be measured and purchase it, I want to make sure I have the shoe situation covered. We are having an OUTDOOR reception and an INDOOR wedding. My FH is just shy of 6' and I am 5'1", regardless, I am more concerned with sinking in the grass at the reception if I wear heels.
I was maybe thinking ballet flats??? Will this look okay with my Maggie dress???
Thanks!!!
