I personally love wedding boots...my 1st choice would be these:
and my 2nd choice would be something like this :
but if you dont like the lacey shoes...i would def go with Nude as you suggested :) Love the dress
GORGEOUS dress!!! I think taupe/nude shoes would be stunning, but you could also choose a diamond white/light ivory in a perfect shade to match your lace. Or, you could choose a bright color from your wedding palette, which I know many brides are choosing these days. Of the three options, I think the nude/taupe idea to match your under layer would probably the most stunning. However, you really can't go wrong.
@shalynnmarie: LOVE those shoes
Nothing wrong with nude, I'd personally go with a splash of color though. One of your wedding colors perhaps?
@shalynnmarie:Ohhhh my, i LOVE those slingbacks. Are they YSL?? Might need to send those over to FI with the subject line "Wedding Present!"
I would definitely not do a lace shoe- that would be lace overload.
I would do a nude shoe or a bright colored shoe like turquoise or purple.
@akp0702: heres the site i saw them on http://www.obsessedwithshoes.com/shoes/womens-evening-shoes/
@julies1949: As beautiful as those lace slingbacks are in their own right, I totally agree with you. The affect with her stunning lace gown would be too much lace, too "matchy matchy" looking.
@Brielle:I was also thinking of using one of our colors (eggplant purple, a steely blue-grey, a green, and accents of grey/silver), but i'm worried about how they will mesh with the dress. With my dress I'll be wearing a taupe sash with a brooch pinned to the bow, so in my head i'm feeling like a pop of color like that might not go well (only because I can only picture that pop of color with a diamond white dress). Ill have to bring examples of both when my dress comes in!!
@julies1949:that's true...very well could be too much lace. in a PP i mentioned I'll be wearing a brooch that adds some sparkle...I'm hoping for the reception i can find some sparkly flats, but maybe a heel with some sparkle as well?
@akp0702: I do think the solid nude/taupe shoe is the best choice. It would be gorgeous, elegant, etc. You're going to look amazing! FYI, I did not even consider a "pop of color" for my own wedding shoes (of which I had three pairs!), because, when I was married in 2009, I had never seen that done, and I also tend to prefer a more "elegant" look vs. a more "fun" look. However, someone who wanted a more fun look would not go wrong with the eggplant purple.
By the way, I know you responded very favorably to the lace slingbacks. Perhaps you could get those for your engagement party or rehearsal/rehearsal dinner and pair them with a solid-color dress?

My dress is lace with a taupe underlay (although I may change it to a more champagne colored one, waiting for the designer to send the swatches to the bridal salon). When I tried it on I immediately thought that maybe really gorgeous nude shoes would go well?? What would you wear??
