- Wedding: March 2011
My mom and dad have offered to help with the wedding not just planning but giving us some money. They told us they want to put some money in and asked us what we would want them to put their money towards. I wasn’t expecting them to pay (though it will be greatly appreciated and needed) I wasn’t sure what to tell them. They were waiting to decide how much to give us based on what we need help with. I originally thought that I would put their money towards the reception because that’s the largest cost. I have been thinking and I feel like I should have them put in towards the photography or my wedding dress. I am just unsure and wanted to get some suggestions. I just feel like the reception is so much that I should them put in for something smaller maybe something small enough that however much they choose to pay for that thing. Photography and wedding dress is still a lot of money for each one. Maybe invitations because we are looking for the cheapest route possible. I want to like my invitations but honestly they are just going to get thrown out so why spend a fortune. I feel that way about the whole wedding. I guess if money wasn’t an object then I’d go crazy and get whatever I wanted but we are both just starting out so its tight. I keep freaking out too what if something comes up thats expensive and we can’t afford our wedding (even though it will be low budget as is and FI has some raises coming).
