Wow, really? Your boss would rather have you at work puking? Yeesh.

Walk-in doctors might be less inclined to write a note than your personal doctor, though.

Sounds like food poisoning. Is your boss such a douche that he’d write you up for something that you can’t get a doctor’s note for? And would it be that bit a deal if he did?

Tell the walk in you think you had food poisoning.  I’ve never had a problem getting a note from a clinic!

I would go to the clinic and tell them your’e still expericing all of the symptoms you were last night.  They’ll write you a note but probably won’t prescribe you anything.

Sorry your boss is such a jerk!

@MissFireFlower:  Could you call your family doctor and discuss this over the phone? They might prep a note for you to pick up?

The walk-in clinic will give you a note. They may make you pay for it but they will give you one – just explain the situation!

Yup agreed with PPs. Just explain your symptoms last night and that you need a note to not be written up. Douchey boss though, to not believe you.

In Canada, you aren’t required to provide a doctors note unless you’re off more then 3 days (at least that’s how it is in Ontario), or if you miss a scheduled statutory holiday. Is this not the case where you are?

Normally my regular doctor will write a note if I just call. They’ll either fax it for me or have me pick it up.

You can get a note that says X medical provider saw you at X time. It may say you are not well enough to work. It doesn’t have to say what your condition is, per medical privacy.
