I’ve narrowed it down to three choices: 1) vitamin String Quartet’s cover of In Your Eyes, 2) Vitam String Quartet’s cover of All I Want is You (U2song), or 3) have the bagpiper pipe me in.
My Fiance is Scottish and the wedding will be in Glasgow. We’re having a ceilidh (traditional Scottish folk dancing) for part of the reception. Were using thistles in all the bouquets, buttonholes, etc. FI’s family tartan will also be incorporated in places (wraps on the bouquets, my shoes, ribbons on the cake)
If I have the piper pipe me in, I can have the bridesmaids walk in to one of the songs (or a different one).

@Glasgowbound: If you’re having a live quartet play at the ceremony, then “In Your Eyes” is an absolutely beautiful arrangement to play as you walk down the aisle.
At the same time, I absolutely adore bagpipes, so that would be my alternate pick (#1 pick if the other two songs are not going to be played live). I love live ceremony music, if it can be managed. It makes your moment even more special. 🙂

What about having the bagpipes as the recessional song? They are loud and it would be fun. Then you could pick one of the o ther two songs for your walk down the aisle.

@MlleFabuleux: not live 🙁 recorded versions.
@HisIrishPrincess: bagpipes will be the recessional for sure! That was even FI’s idea 🙂

@Glasgowbound: Hmmm…well if you’re having bagpipes for the recessional, my vote is definitely for “In Your Eyes,” live or not. That way you get the best of both worlds!
