I'd just like to say that my Mom is 41 and she wears flat boots over skinny jeans, so no, I don't think the look is too "young".

I don't think flat boots over jeans is too young. In fact I think it can be a modern, classy look.
I think it's a great look, too! Very timeless & classy. I see women of all ages wearing boots over jeans.
I agree with all the PPs - I think it is an ageless look, esp with darker jeans.
Boots and Jeans sounds good... Are you wearing more than one outfit?
@cameronwedding: I don't think I have a choice to wear more than one outfit. Our engagement session is only for an hour and it's at the fair so there won't be anywhere clean to change plus I don't think an hour gives us much time especially since we will be at the busy fair.
Thanks to everyone. I'll be going shopping this week and may or may not post pics of what I get. 
I think boots are completely appropriate with jeans. Also, a nice pair of sandals would work

Help me bee's! Not sure what to wear?
I am 42 and a size 16. Our pics are going to be at the state fair in AZ at sunset and night time. It will probably be in the low 70s.
I want to wear flat shoes because I don't want to be taller than my FI but I don't like how flats look on me. Are flat boots over jeans to "young" of a look for a 42yr old?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Especially if you provide pics. :)
