Hi, bees! Mr. Husband and I are attending my best friends wedding this Saturday. It isn’t anything ritzy by any means, but we like to take pride in ourselves and dress somewhat decent. I’m in the wedding so what I’m wearing isn’t an issue. What should Mr. Husband wear to the wedding? It’ll be indoors, but it’s still going to be hot outside. I think a short sleeve button up shirt with a tie is a bit, pardon my french, dorky. Lol

So, a long-sleeved button up with the same is still dorky? ‘Cause that’s what I was going to suggest lol

A light-colored suit. Maybe linen? Or seersucker?
Short sleeve shirts with ties look terrible.

I dont think a shirt and tie looks dorky at all! But if you want something different maybe have him wear a nice pair of slacks, button up shirt no tie and linen jacket

@jayelcee85: Short sleeves and ties remind me of used car salesmen.
How about a light colored or linen suit with a nice shirt and no tie.
Or possibly wear a tie for the ceremony and take it off for the reception.

I would still go with a long sleeved shirt and tie. He can always roll up his sleeves post ceremony if the heat gets to him.
@Theresa90405: Love men in linen and seersucker in the summer!

I agree with the PPs – if you want to be a bit dressier, go with a linen or seersucker suit. Otherwise, dress slacks, a long sleeved button up shirt and a tie would be fine!

Oooh totally agree with the rolling up sleeves situation. For some reason a long sleeved shirt with the sleeves rolled almost to the elbow looks hot, whereas a short sleeve shirt can easily look dorky. If it’s not a nice enough wedding for a suit, I’d go with that.

I associate short sleeves and ties, with airplane pilots. I just can’t get past it. LOL. Darling Husband would always wear a suit regardless of the time of year, but a lot of the summer weddings, he ends up in something like this (obviously dress pants)…

Thanks, ladies! And I Darling Husband usually wears long sleeves and a tie with slacks, but I was trying to save him from the heat. I think we’ll go with that, but with the sleeves rolled up!! 🙂

Uhm… short sleeve shirts with ties are SO not dorky!
