Ok! So my flower girl is going to be my, at the time of the wedding, nearly 3 year old daughter. We are having a vintage themed wedding and this is (probably) the dress she will be wearing along with the headpiece:
My BMs will be having black vintage looking dresses like this: (everyone will have a diff dress though)
And they will be carrying ivory lace parasols:
What, on earth, should my daughter carry? A mini ivory parasol? A kissing ball? Anything at all? I dont friggin know!

OMG.. a mini ivory parasol would be sooo beauitful! I had a 7 year old flower girl and she was super excited to get to hold a bouquet like the BM ladies. And when she didn’t have a parasol during picture taking, my woman of honor had to give up her parasol b/c she felt bad. So I think it would be wonderful to have a mini parasol for your daughter. And the one’s you picked are grogeous!

The mini ivory parasol!! That would be very sweet!
If you decide on something else you could do i bouquet or kissing ball that matches the flowers on the dress. Our FG carried a kissing ball in the shape of a heart and it was really pretty. But i really like the parasol idea the best!

I saw this picture and I fell in love! I think the flower girls look adorable carrying just one long stemmed flower!

Uh oh, I think a parasol could become a deadly weapon in the hands of a 3yr. old, lol. I would maybe have her hold the kissing ball and wrap the ribbon around her wrist so she couldn’t throw it down. She’s going to be absolutely adorable whatever she holds!

@AudzinLuv: Haha see that’s kinda what I was thinking too. But I think that she’d use it mroe as a cane than a weapon. She’s always stealing my grandma’s canes. What a dork. Lol. But there is still a few months before the wedding so she might be out of the cane loving stage by then.

if she’s 3, just make sure she gets used to wearing it beforehand..otherwise she may refuse and rip it off on your day, as kids sometimes do.

My flower girl is 3.5 and she’s holding a flower wand (flowers wrapped around/attached to a wand). I hadn’t heard of this before my florist suggested, but wow is my flower girl excited (she’s a little princess). Don’t know if you could tweak it a little to match the vintage theme (different materials?), but I think its a fun idea for the FG.

I love your BM’s parasols! I love the idea of a mini parasol, but I feel like anything would work; flower girls are just cute all around.

If you want her to actually scatter petals, you could attach a drawstring bag or half basket to the handle of the parasol which she would carry (closed) in front of her. That way she would have a parasol like the “big girls” but still have the flower petals.
