DH is on his way home from work and is going to pick up groceries or take out I guess. What should we have? We're both feeling uninspired, but I'm hungry so a quick meal would be ideal!

I had to throw in frozen pizzas for me and FI.  Wasn't my favorite choice, but it was definitely quick.  Last name I made buffalo chicken wraps.  That's fairly quick to make/throw together. Even somewhat of a chicken salad.

Well we're having chili. Oh is smells so good! But since you want a quick meal:

you can do a rotisseri chicken, with salad, and bread, or whatever fixings,

pizza (frozen, or take-out) with a side salad,

chicken wings with salad (can you tell I love me some salad? haha),

or one of my favs is ichiban noodles, boiled with green onions and eggs, and then fry up some prawns in a pan, serve over the soup, and add some srirachi sauce to spice it up. Oh and you can even get some frozen dumplings (gyoza) and fry those up to serve on the side.

I'm on strike. DH needs to learn to feed himself sometimes. All I'm craving is a giant bowl of pasta; you know those Lipton side dishes bags? Guilty pleasure. I'll regret it later I'm sure.

@bakerella: Come on over! :) I made plenty!

Ohh... have to see if he'd be up for pasta again? I don't comprehend... I could eat it every single day! LOL! :) Hence the reason I'm also married to my treadmill... meh.

Do you have any chicken and frozen veggies? Could whip up a stir fry pretty fast!

We're having cake for dinner because Cake Wrecks is doing a signing in town!

@Jd64848704: Yeah, I don't think I understand either... there are people who don't live off pasta? ;)

My dinner will involve beef because I took some out of the freezer to thaw earlier... I'm thinking either tacos or spaghetti.

@Jd64848704: I hear ya about the pasta.

Well I got all worked up thinking about hot and sour soup, texted DH with the ingredients to be told he already picked something up and to start the oven. Guess we'll have soup tomorrow, LOL!

Thanks for the help ladies! You're all so inspiring!

My favorite cheap, quick, one dish meal are fajitas! You'd just need thinly sliced steak (or chicken, or no meat which personally like best), a frozen bag of sweet pepper slices, a little fajita seasoning packet, sour cream, salsa, and tortillas. Cook the meat on stovetop until browned, set aside, heat up the peppers on stovetop with a cover, once their soft add the meat and the seasoning and let simmer. Serve. It takes seriously about 15 minutes and it's yummy... and cheap!
