We're doing New York, New York by Frank Sinatra. This is mostly because we moved to NYC together, and we're both major Yankees and Giants fans :o)
It should be a bit upbeat since it is the start of the party. My hubby (so cool to say it) and I picked out the Rocky theme song. It was a perfect fit for us.
OH, hotchildinthecity! I'm glad I caught ya, I meant to ask you, where are you going to look or have already looked for your veil, shoes, accessories? Upstate or in NYC? I know the prices are gonna be different down here than back home, just curious. I wanna start looking in November.
Jennifer: I honestly haven't started looking for that stuff yet...haha. I'm not going to get my veil from my bridal shop (upstate) because it's really expensive. I will probably order online. I'm probably going to look for stuff upstate whenever I'm up there, because you're right...it is cheaper!
I'm actually doing a lot of meetings and such with vendors next weekend, and then doing a lot over Thanksgiving as well. Feel free to PM me if you want specific details or recommendations. Also, I'd love to hear where you're having ceremony, reception, etc. :o)
@Roddy - my FI would be on cloud 9 if I suggested that! He's a boxing fanatic. His last two "gifts" from me have been tickets to HBO Boxing after Dark when it was in town.
I'm thinking about I Gotta Feeling by Black Eyed Peas. I also wanted something upbeat.
We used the University of Michigan fight song, "The Victors"! It was fun and most of the people at our wedding were alumni/fans, so everyone cheered and sang along.
I was at a wedding once where they used "The Final Countdown." It was a good idea in theory, because that song is dramatic like the Rocky theme song, but I wouldn't recommend picking something like this. You'd have to make sure the DJ has the song cued to the right spot, or else there is just too much intro music before you get to the good part.
oooh just the greatest song ever :) :) :)

Love Addict by Family Force 5
Our grandparents are going to be confused but oh well! They'll live lol
We're rick rolling the reception...
never gonna give you up - rick astley
ooooh yessss!! hehhehehehe
By the way, Meridee, good choice. It's such a feel good song. :)
I think we're going to do This Will Be An Everlasting Love by Natalie Cole.
The theme music to the Newlywed Game, I think, and we are giving the DJ a list of all the wedding party and fun/embarassing stories about them to announce as they enter. We think it will be fun.
My Husband and I walked out to "Under Pressure" it was pretty funny! Everyone got a kick out of it --- of course it was my husband's idea to walk out to that, but honestly I wouldn't have had it any other way and the pictures from that moment were wonderful because we are just laughing the whole way walking in!
at least our wedding party is walking into superstition by stevie wonder... we really like the beat and rock the motown vibe a lot :)
I didn't know we needed a song! :)
How long does it play? The whole time your the wedding party is being announced or just for the two of you?
So many details!!!
Let me Clear my Throat....DJ Kool....Such a fun song and will get people "pumped!"
I'm pretty sure we're using Kids by MGMT... it's the song we were obsessed with the weekend we chose our reception venue, so it kind of fits as a big part of our reception.
Another One Bites the Dust, by Queen :) But I got excited so we started walking in too soon, didn't hear the full song but it was still funny for the people who noticed and knew the song.
we are doing "bad to the bone" just because its fun and it will lighten the mood and both old & young know it...
Parents: Simply the Best, Tina Turner
Flower Girl / Ring Bearer: Party in the USA, Miley Cyrus
First three groomsmen / bridesmaids (they are bride's bros): Shipping up to Boston, Dropkick Murphys
Next three Groomsmen / bridesmaids: Put your hands up, Fatman Scoop
Single Usher: Big Pimpin, Jay-Z
US: Let me Clear my Throat, DJ Kool!! :)
What do you all think?!?!
i dont know why, but i really want our intro song to be the song they played at the end of the movie "Hitch"....i dont know the name but the lyrics go "now that we've found love what are we gonna do....with it"
We are actually using the Halo 2 theme song since my fiancé is such a video game nut!
We also considered Cleveland Rocks, Welcome to the Jungle, I've got a feeling and the Ohio State fight song
Umm...my DJ didn't ask me about a song for that. Hmm, I think I need to shoot him an email!
We're not being introduced, but if we were, I'd want to use "This Will Be Our Year" by the Zombies.
Oh Jessie516 I am so glad I read your post! We are both RU alumns and I really, really really want to be introduced to our fight song!! GO KNIGHTS!
We just decided on I'm Shipping Up to Boston by the Dropkick Murphys for us and the wedding party. Should get the party started!
Our introduction song is "Out There" by John Dahlback.

FH has remixed the song to be exactly what we want.
Shipping up to Boston - Dropkick Murphys
and the Bridal party will walk in to "Dirty Water"
The wedding party is walking in to "Pata Pata" which is totally fun and then we are walking in to the theme from the A Team. I don't know why but those were tough decisions to make - I kept feeling like it was super important because it would set the tone for the WHOLE wedding (which is silly).
I think we are going to do Walk it Out by DJ Unk...haha
Oh that David Guetta song is a good one! I love euro house type music. I'm wondering if Bob Sinclair's World Hold on (since it's such a happy song) will be ok. Maybe not. Hmmm.
