Just wondering what other brides out there are doing. this will be an emotional dance for me since im such a daddys girl. my dad and i are going to be dancing to heartland, I loved her first.
id love to hear what everyone else is dancing to on their big day :)
Harvest Moon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMA-_ElvKsk by Neil Young.
My dad used to play it all the time when i was little. I remember seeing him singing on the couch with his guitar
We danced to Daddy's Angel by T Carter.

I have never seen my Dad cry and he cried while we danced and then after he went over and hugged my mom and bawled :-( She told me this after - thank goodness because I would have lost it at the wedding!!

Love that song...good choice!!
We'll be dancing to "Edelweiss" from the Sound of Music. It's one of my and my dad's favorite songs and we'll be using the version where the dad is singing with his oldest daughter.
If we weren't dancing to that it would be "Cinderella" by Steven Curtis Chapman
Probably Louis Armstrong's What a Wonderful World, but I am also thinking about Somewhere over the Rainbow.
"i just called to say i love you" stevie wonder - when i was little (like, 2) i used to make my mom call him so i could scream it into the phone haha
We danced to "Walk with You" by Edwin McCain! :) My mom cried her eyes out, my dad tried to maintain, and we had a blast!
We haven't decided if we want to do the special dances yet. My father doesn't dance, at all, so he's fine with skipping it, but my mother really wants to see us dance together. If we do, I think we'll go with "That's How Strong My Love Is" by Otis Redding.
We did Edwin McCain's "Walk With You" and my Dad lost it:

We also had a slideshow going (yes my dad's wearing shorts in that old pic, their just 80's shorts, lol.)
He was sniffling and crying into my hair!

Luckily there were some funny pics up there so he wasn't bawling through the whole thing!
(I don't look amused, must have been an embarassing pic!)

@runningelley - Awwww...love any song from The Sound of Music! I'm sure it will be a tear-jerker!
@sunsine & 7 & SwissMiss - I just love the emotion captured during moments like this.
I danced with my Dad & Mom to "Wind Beneath My Wings" by Bette Midler. The words are so meaningful...
@melisslp: Thanks! We're both overly emotional people anyway so I'm def going to make sure my makeup is waterproof!!
Deciding between Edwin McCain's "Walk With You" or T. Carter's "Daddy's Angel"
We also danced to "I Loved Her First". But, I really really did not want to dance to that song. It is not us, AT ALL. We were supposed to dance to "Here For You" by Ozzy Osbourne but the dumb DJ didn't download it and I didn't have my ipod on me.
We also had picked out "Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd but it was way too long.
My father/daughter dance song was "I Loved Her First" by Heartland
We danced to 'You Are the Sunshine of My Life' by Stevie Wonder. It was one of the best moments of my life.

There are a lot of great song ideas on here! We are going with "Little Miss Magic" by Jimmy Buffett
My Little Girl by Tim McGraw. My dad and I are not very close or emotional so this song worked perfect. PLUS the lyrics had a tie in to a wedding
We danced to Unforgettable-Nat King Cole and Natlie Cole. No matter what, I'll always be my Daddy's girl. =-)
We're dancing to God Only Knows, by The Beach Boys. My family watches Love Actually every Christmas, so aside from liking the song and the band, it also has nostalgic special meaning. And it's a really sweet song, with kind of weird lyrics, which sums up our relationship perfectly.
We're going to do a combined parents dance with FI and his mom to "Never Alone" by Lady Antebellum.
I'm hoping we're going to dance to 'Butterfly Kisses' by Bob Carlisle. I am definitely a Daddy's girl and I start to tear up every time I hear it.. We used to sing it together in his truck when I was little.. :)
@MsPensFan: I used to listen to that song all the time in my dad's car. I remember the day we bought the CD. My dad won't dance to it though because he says he will bawl the whole time. We are on the hunt for another song, unless he changes his mind.
The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra. I wanted something a little more upbeat so that I wouldn't cry. Also, we combined it with my groom dancing with his mom, so it had to be appropriate for that.
my dad is a huge music fan with a huge collection, so I gave him complete control over song choice - he's surprising me with his selection at the reception :)
"You're Gonna Miss This" by Trace Adkins. I'm pretty sure that song was written just for me... my dad and I are both going to lose it I'm sure.
@mrshfmstr:My father is deceased so I will be dancing with my uncle to Luther Vandross "dance with my father".
Something by Al Green. He got me hooked on Al, and any time an Al song comes on while he's visiting me at work (I own my own store and my parents practically live there) we just BELT it out, including the James Brown-esque squeeks and shouts. Oh yes.
We'll be dancing to 'In my Life' by the Beatles, he's gunna cry, we've been dancing to beatles songs since I was little
