Mine is a bit retro but we chose "We are Family" by the Pointer Sisters because our entire party was only family members. It seemed fitting.
We're all walking in to "New York, New York." It's so long that we don't need to do separate songs!
my FI wants to use the clip from those "jock rock" CD's that has the dude yelling "let's get rrrrrrready to rrrrrrrumble!" followed by the jazzy cheesy pump-up music.
hahaha. not kidding!
We used different snippets of songs (10-15 seconds each) for each member of the wedding party - that way we got to pick songs that fit each person. It was definitely a lot more work that way though!
Our wedding party is walking into Kids by MGMT... it's fun and upbeat and FI and I love it!
Great ideas, ladies!!! Thank you all so much for your help :] I really like @Erisque's idea, but I have a feeling that would be a lot of work! Very creative!
Ahhh I don't even know! I think we will just have one song for our bridal party (there are only two) and for us. The only music my fiance and I really have in common is country. He's not into a lot of the new pop/rock. If it were up to him it would be some cheesy 80's or early 90's. If it were up to me it would be an oldie or a newer pop/rock song.
@erisque - thanks for getting that in my head
"Let's get ready to rrrrruuuummmbbbllle! Doo doo doo"
We're using DJ Earworm's State of Pop 2009 mashup. It's a bunch of hit songs from last year all mixed up together with a great beat in the background! My 7 yo daughter makes me listen to it a hundred times a day ;o)
Really tempted to use The Right Stuff by the New Kids on the Block. The majority of our wedding party grew up with us so I want a song that reminds us of that.
We're using Enter Sandman by Metallica but just the beginning part that they use at the beginning of Virginia Tech football games. FI's brother is a huge Tech fan and since he's best man we thought it would be a cool surprise for him. :)
MIka- Love today.. it makes me want to dance!! i think we will have it on through all the intros...
Using "Happiness" by Goldfrapp. It just makes us happy, and is upbeat enough to keep it fun.
It's easily long enough for everyone, but SO and I badly want to use separate tunes to introduce our parents that would act as inside jokes between us and our parents (Cottoneye Joe for his, Walk Like a Man for mine). We'll probably skip it. :)
@ddubzz - Great song! We thought about using that one.
Right now we are leaning towards "When You Were Young" by The Killers.
Supermassive Black Hole by Muse. I've always loved this song! (For those not familiar with it - it's also in Twilight - I think during the baseball scene - though that is not why I picked it).
@misspumpkin - I think your FI's suggestion sounds awesome! I would have totally been up for that jocky cheesiness!
I gotta feeling that tonight’s gonna be a good night
That tonight’s gonna be a good night
That tonight’s gonna be a good good night
Black Eyed Peas!!!
The FI really wants the old Chicago Bulls entrance music from when MJ and Scottie Pippen were there. I just smile and roll my eyes. :-) I think most likely will be Let me entertain you by robbie williams
@amariem - love, love, love "radar love". that is one classic song that never fails to get people pumped. very cute idea.
We used snippets of songs as well...
parents and grandparents were introduced to "I've Got a Feeling" by Black Eyed peas
bridal party - "Bring em out" by T.I (which resulted in some awesome dance moves from the bridal party I must say)
and we came out to Signed, Sealed, Delivered by Stevie Wonder.
We are walking in to Rock You Like a Hurricane (our song!) and they are walking in to Michael Jackson - Don't Stop Til You Get Enough
We are using Paul Oakenfold- Starry Eyed Surprise for the bridal party!
Hubby and I are walking into Tricky by Run DMC
Our bridal party walked into the beginning part of I Got a Feeling by Black Eyed Peas. We walked into the beginning music part of Back in Black by AC/DC (husband's choice of course)
We're not going to announce them b/c everybody knows each other...but they will have a dance song...(the bridal party's dance) and it will be to Jimmy Buffett's version of Brown Eyed Girl! (my sister and bro in law's song). As played by our steel drum band!

At your reception? I'm a little torn on this one. I want something fun and upbeat, but nothing seems to be coming to mind!
My FH and I are walking in to our reception to "I Gotta Feeling" by Black Eyed Peas.
