I walked down to "In my Life" We had a relative play acoustic guitar and sing. It was really beautiful.

runrgurl10 -If you can find an acoustic  version that your parents can listen to, it might help convince them. I am actually a classical  guitarist and always thought I would have a classical piece, but this was so memorable and perfect, I can't imagine using anything else.

After much debate, I decided to go with All You Need is Love by the Beatles.

I'm walking down to 'River Flows in You' by Yiruma. We're still trying to decide on a song/songs for everyone else. =)

Loverboy and I have thrown a few options around so far:

The lovely Cannon in D (did you know "D" is the key of love?)
Starting off with Here Comes the Bride and phasing into the Imperial March ...
    Hallelujah by Rufus Wainwright

I'm sure we'll come up with more the more real this whole wedding thing gets ... and considering we're both indecisive it should be interesting to see what comes of it ... would it be weird to walk down the aisle to Red Right Ankle by the Decemberists? It may just be easier if we do something dancy/less serious ... which is where the imperial march idea came about ...

I'm 95% sure I'm going with the traditional "Here Comes the Bride", but with more of a pop feel!  I get goosebumps everytime I hear it!!

I have always said I wanted Trumpet Voluntary - it has that traditional bridal feel without being the Bridal March, which I'm not a huge fan of. But lately, I have been thinking I want to walk down to an instrumental version of "Here Comes The Sun". We are having a violinist, so I don't know how that will sound! We'll see.

@rungurl10 - I LOVE that song so much.  It's on my playlist as songs to play prior to the ceremony.  I think you should stick to your guns with 'In My Life'.

I think I'm walking down the aisle to Nat King Cole's 'When I Fall in Love.'  it gives me the chills.

Vitamin String Quartet's cover of "The Sound of Settling" by Deathcab for Cutie. You honestly would never know it was the same song...the instrumental version is just beautiful!

I walked down to Bach's Unaccompanied Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major played by Yo-Yo Ma. It's a cello solo song. So if you have a stringed quartet with a cello you can have this song played. I loved it and it still makes me emotional when I hear the song.

Another song I love, which my bridesmaids walked down to, it's called "The butterfly waltz" and I had the Piano and cello version of the song played. It's a beautiful song as well.

I think I have a music obsession with cellos. Laughing

The Three of Us by Ben Harper.  It is just an instrumental piece with an accoustic guitar (I think).  I love it though.

I've chosen White Sand by Armin Van Buuren...yes its trance... but I've found a really beautiful basically acoustic version by DJ Shah. I know I've heard the version that I want before... I just have to find it again! This version isn't quite it if I remember correctly.

But here's a You Tube Version:

If you let it load then fast forward to 1:26 and listen from there  :o)

Makes me cry every time I hear it haha

Our small bridal party, ending with myself all walked down to "Simple Gifts" (Shaker Hymn/Aaron Copeland) on the organ.  It started simple and sweet with the flower girl and swelled a little each verse to a very full, rich sound with some bells by the time it was my turn.

It was the song I played at my very first piano recital, so has always been special.

Going traditional but with a twist. Using the Bridal March by Jonathan Cain (from Journey). Getting married in a historic chapel with a short walk, so th 1:54 is perfect.

@Krissycake. Hubby was supposed to make a slideshow of our wedding and I wanted him to use that song. He never got to it... It's just such a perfect wedding song I think! I love it. We didn't have a first dance or else I may have picked that :p

I just did the traditional Canon in D. We had a cello and clarinet and I'd have to pay extra for them to compose songs they didn't already have, which I wouldnt have minded to much, but I was afraid they wouldnt have enough time to practice and compose so I just did this. I tried listening to others and picking others, but Canon in D just felt like THE ONE. I just felt like could see myself walking down the isle, getting teary eyed, the whole shebang. It was amazing :)

Though, to be fair, when it came down to it, I barely even noticed the music at all for the whole ceremony!

I also wanted the Waltz from Sleeping Beauty by Tchaicovsky, but that was just way too fast to walk down the isle to lol

@JoesWifey - thanks!  I went through lots and lots of ideas, and then here recently, FI mentioned he wanted live music, so I had to go through even more ideas that would translate well into instrumental versions =)  that one was just so appropriate (the sound) and then i read the lyrics and you are right - it is very 'wedding-y'

@ Stiletto, I listened to DCFC's VSQ and it was really pretty!  Thanks for sharing that!

I used an instrumental verison of "Bittersweet Symphony" by The Verve. It was so beautiful! I came in the doors right at the climax of the song and everyone was so impressed.

I ALMOST went with Iron and Wine's "Love and some verses" but it didnt fit my late night winter wedding. =/

I'm going to walk to "Sanctuary" (the instumental version) from Kingdom Hearts II. I'm sort of a gamer and wanted to include such a pretty song. We're using from 0:42-1:55.

I hired a violin/classical guitar duo for the wedding ceremony and was going to go with something standard (pachelbel's canon), but i was recently reminded of this Lizzie West song (Chariot's Rise) and get teary eyed every time i listen to it. Any thoughts?

(ignore the video part - i don't know what that is and for those of you who are familiar with The Secretary, no I'm not into S&M, I just really, really, love this song)

I'm walking down the aisle to Giving Myself Over To You as well.  I was originally going to come down to Golden by Chrisette Michele but I heard the J-Hud song while at work and knew I had to switch.
