Hi !
I am really in love with the guitar version of "Dance Me to the End of Love" by Leanard Cohen
AND I am also liking the idea of the bridal party walking down to the same song.
What are your ideas & songs ?
I've only heard the Civil Wars version of that song, but I adore it! Great choice
I'm walking down the aisle to the Vitamin String Quartet's version of Wild Horses
A Thousand Years by Christina Perri.
Which I only realized was from Twilight after I picked it. Oh well.
I walked down to "The First Day of my Life" by Bright eyes.
My bridal party walked down to "Sweet Pea" by Amos Lee
I want to grow old with you - adam sandler, and Here comes the sun - the Beetles
One of my best friends from high school will be playing guitar and right now I'm thinking of "Here Comes the Sun" by the Beatles.
I'm walking down to this version of "I Won't Give Up".

@jaxzoobride: yeah, I love the Civil Wars version too, so beautiful
@Puppy Love: that song in the violin version brought me to tears ! beautiful =)
I'm walking to "Dancing Shoes" by Green River Ordinance.
Honestly, probably the entire bridal party will walk to it, as well. It's a short aisle and there aren't a lot of us and I really want to use the entire song because I love it, so that's like nearly 3 minutes of walking. Can't do that on my own!
@HeyKaraoke: I feel the same way ! I love the song that I choose so much and I think it will be nice if we all walk down the for the same one. =) and ditto on the short aisle ;p I also think it flows better.
I like Romantic Flight from How to Train Your Dragon, but I'm not sure.
My bridal party is walking to the beginning of "Home" by Chantal Kreviazuk and in a perfect world, the doors will open and I will enter right at the chorus!
It is from How to lose a guy in 10 days and makes me tear every time I hear it...I'm trying to de-sensitize myself!
the bridal party is walking down to 'Baby Love Child' (Pizzicato 5) and I'll be walking down to 'Fry's Holophoner Symphony' by 8bitbrigadier. We're huge Futurama fans.
I may not do a song, is that weird? we arent thinking of setting up for sound outside...but if we did, it would be the somewhere over the rainbow by israel, instrumental eucalayle version, or just the beginning maybe. interested to see what other will walk to though!
I'm walking down the aisle to "when you say nothing at all" Ronan Keating
'be my baby' by the Ronettes. i only thought of ot the other day and I'm so excited for it now! the lyrics are perfect!
"the night we met i knew i needed you so
& if i had the chance id never let you go"
its a very casual sixties wedding so it should set the tone nicely.
before i came up with that i was thinking of the song from amelie (http://youtu.be/O8ACZ6IyyqM) so if you just want something pretty and piano-y, theres an idea!
I had traditional organ music
Canon in D for my sister to walk down the aisle, Here comes the Bride as I was escorted by my 81 year old Dad..he waited 54 years for that to happen!
Just walked down the aisle!!! We planned to use Bright Eyes- First Day of my Life but DH surprised me and wrote a song to the music of Bright Eyes and sang and played guitar as I walked down the aisle. It was absolutely perfect and I still get teary thinking about it.
The Piano Guys version of A Thousand Years.

my bridal party is walking down to the instrumental version of "making memories of us" by keith urban.
my dad and i will be walking down to the instrumental version of "to make you feel my love" by garth brooks.
Ben Folds - The Luckiest - Piano version
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppSWv_SGqeI (I have a higher quality version thankfully).
The first time I heard these lyrics, I knew this had to be our first dance. But then I heard the piano version and everything changed.
I don't get many things right the first time
In fact, I am told that a lot
Now I know all the wrong turns
The stumbles and falls brought me here
And where was I before the day
That I first saw your lovely face?
Now I see it everyday
And I know that I am
I am, I am the luckiest
What if I'd been born fifty years before you
In a house on the street where you live?
Maybe I'd be outside as you passed on your bike
Would I know?
And in a wide sea of eyes
I see one pair that I recognize
And I know that I am
I am, I am the luckiest
I love you more than I have
Ever found a way to say to you
Next door, there's an old man who lived to his 90's
And one day, passed away in his sleep
And his wife, she stayed for a couple of days
And passed away
I'm sorry, I know that's a strange way
To tell you that I know we belong
That I know that I am
I am, I am the luckiest
My bridal party is walking down the isle to Pachabel's Canon in D and then I'll follow to I Giorni by Ludovico Einaudi.
I almost picked that too. I LOVE that song!
The bridal party and myself are walking down the aisle to "Turning Page" by Sleeping at Last. It is so pretty. It is long enough for all of us to walk down to, and there is a part that the music starts to really build where I will start to walk to.
I'm walking down to "La vie en rose". We have a quartet so I need to hear back from them to make sure they can play it, I REAAAALLLY hope so becuase I love it.
I would of loved to walk to "Sea of Love" ....but I think it's out of their comfort zone.
Bon Iver - Skinny Love.
I realize that this song is kind-of depressing, but the music is just amazing and fits perfectly to the entire feel of the wedding. Plus the song will be cut short before any of the sad lyrics come into play! Haha.
I really wanted a harp or a string quartet but due to our yacht venue and spacing issues, I settled for vitamin string quartet covers...
My guest of honor (parents) & bridal party entered to "Fools Rush In" (lol)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGvmtYjbNNc
and I entered to "At Last" (We've been long distance for 7 years of our relationship)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCsGvLzlnqc
...The first few notes of "At last" still make me cry to this day! lol
I walked down to the piano/instrumental version of 'Unchained Melody'.
@KimmySumShuga: I kept seeing these guys on Youtube, they have some incredible covers...so you're just using your IPOD or?....
@Brideonabudgetlauren: I love Bright Eyes. I actually put that song on a mix CD I made for my fiance during the first year we were together.
@MissP_Bee: That's so sweet! Did he use the music for "First Day of My Life" or a different song?
@MrsFutureG: I love that song. We're planning to use it as our first dance. I can't listen to it without crying, but it's so beautiful. The lyrics are perfect.
I don't have all of the ceremony music planned yet, but I did tell my fiance that it meant a lot to me to use an Elliott Smith song in some part of our wedding. He was worried it would be too depressing, but the compromise was to use a Vitamin String Quartet version as I walked down the aisle.
I ended up choosing their version of "Say Yes." We'll probably end up using a bunch of different VSQ songs during the ceremony.
I walked to Bittersweet Symphony (instrumental). It was magical. :-)
I knew a girl who had the theme to Jurassic Park playing when she and her 300-400lb bridesmaids were walking down the aisle.
I wish I was kidding.
No one could keep a straight face.
@Khalessi3: From Edith Piaf right? I love her voice and especially that song. It's so pretty.
I would really like to walk down the aisle to "All the Things You Are" by Ella Fitzgerald. We would all walk down to it because it's a short aisle, but it's definitely a swing song so it may be a bit fast paced. I have to work on it but it's definitely being played at the wedding no matter what. It's a beautiful song and her voice is spectacular.
@cloverbug: yes, but it will just be strings, no singing. I think it's a good fit, thanks!
@Khalessi3: we had a DJ/MC that had a mic as well as our Pastor who has a booming voice AND a mic... The yacht was wired very well for music but there was simply not a lot of space for a string quartet AND because our charter was 4.5 hours, we would have had to book all vendors for that number of hours regardless... it was a logistical, budget-busting mess to try to get a real quartet so I settled for VSQ and haven't regretted it one bit!
@AquaGrey8962: PAHAHAHAHA! OH MY GOSH I would have loved to see that!
@Khalessi3: Oh, a strings version of that song will be beautiful! I think it'll work out really well for you.
